Of course there will be some positives ... but I'm having trouble identifying them at the moment!

It does seem abit desperate in my opinion, as hes never managed in the premier league and not had any success elsewhere. He was a good player, but a good player doesnt mean a good manager.
On the plus side tho, at least he knows the Premier League really well. Id sooner appoint Veira than Steve Cooper, that would be a really uninspiring appointment. If the deal goes through, weve got a manager before pre seasoning training and we can start bringing some players in!! Theres not much to choose from at the moment. Its definitely a flip of the coin, watch this space……Cmon on you Palace ⚽️🔴🔵

Round round, baby, right round; somewhat like a record?

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Perhaps this will sound harsh, but such appointment could be viewed as a marriage of convenience with both parties having run out of other options.
Vieira doesn’t seem to be greatly in demand or inundated with offers and we haven’t been able to get our preferred options over the line.
You would hope the move hasn’t been made out of desperation with the new season rapidly approaching.
A settled squad has had a settled management and coaching team in Roy and Ray for 4 years.
I don’t know if Vieira is a coach or manager, who his coaching team will be (his choice?) and whether he will have any input into new player recruitment.
It’s a hell of a lot of upheaval before a ball is kicked with a very tough early run of fixtures to negotiate.
Sometimes upheaval can produce a really positive response and let’s hope this is the case here.

Of all the names mentioned along the way this is the worst.

Cooper is talented, so is Ismael, Howe, Wilder, Dyche has Premier League experience, even Lampard has.

Knowing Roy would eventually retire, Palace have had more time for planning than most other clubs. Still we end up in chaos.

The lack of competence in this area in our club is nothing less than shocking!

On the positive side Vieira will most likely be gone nearly as soon as de Boer - eg after 0 points in the 5 opening games - and BFS comes in saving us (again), playing decent football (again).

Gosh you’re a barrel of laughs. Calm your tits and back the new manager.

The header was changed AFTER I posted. It originally said Vierra, a result I suspect of predictive text doing its usual.

The big assumption everyone is making here is that `it's ok to take this risk because when it goes wrong we can get Sam in to save us`. Why do you think Sam will come back to us to save us? He has never returned to any club before why would he return to us?

People are also assuming that Vieira is our new manager. Haven't people learnt that with Palace NOTHING is certain until signed sealed delivered and triple checked.

all good points, other than your last one.

If Vieira is confirmed as our new manager he will definitely not start with 3 CBs as FdB did.
Under BFS i thought we played some shocking football at times. The occasional good results shouldn't overshadow that

Well you sure have a grasp on it , you got 3 managers that got relegated from the premier, 1 got them back , the other 2 failed to get there teams to the premier Lampard was at chelsea even i could have kept them going, so good choices, Viera is as untried as the other 5 was, so simple question how can you be so sure you know what your talking about, Or do you just what tobe negative
