The football under Hodgson was absolutely dire and was making me lose my love of watching Palace. Sometimes in life you have to hit the gamble button and take a bit of a punt. Vieira might not be everyone’s first choice but I think it’s a very bold and a brave choice. Funnier things have happened than him being a raving success and we may well be rewarded. There will be a freshness next season at least so let’s all get behind him!! 🦅

We are a premier league club so I'm a little confused what would make Steve Parish go for Patrick. He hasn't had much managerial experience or done anything that would make you think he would be great at Palace. I think I'd prefer Dougie Freedman who knows the club and showed us he could find a good transfer considering we need a lot of players in. I love Palace and if Viera is our manager I'll obviously back him all the way but I'm just baffled by this appointment to be honest...

all good points, other than your last one.

If Vieira is confirmed as our new manager he will definitely not start with 3 CBs as FdB did.
Under BFS i thought we played some shocking football at times. The occasional good results shouldn't overshadow that

FdB played 3 at the back, but using 1 CB, along side a 20yo right back and 20yo a midfielder, neither had played a premiership game. It was the combination of the two factors that made it insane.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Slightly off topic and don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, but does anybody know who acts as agent for Vieira?
The agent is likely to have a number of players on the books and we are clearly in need of recruitment.
In recent years the likes of Lille has produced some very good players.

Pat in; Wilf out; Palace down.

I am generally one of the half full crowd, but I have never been more pessimistic than if this appointment is confirmed.

I am often wrong and hope I am this time. But this has all the hallmarks of a brave experiment.

I'm like you silvertop. Generally optimistic. With my health record I have to be.

Don't want to say too much yet, because I started to get keen on the last two names in the frame and then look what happened.

The only comment from me right now is that PV has a better control of the English language than LF. At least that should work in his favour.

Were you able to keep hold of any of those straws you clutched?

Looks like AFP. Batshuayi is also a client of theirs.

You're right, it does feel a bit like that!
