Who has also never managed in the premier league.

Instead of a big '6 ' they have a big one PSG

I hope Vieira is good ,but managing in the MLS with its' weird rules on spending and crowd sizes and managing in the French Ligue 1 aren't comparable to the Premier League

this 100%

Let's be realistic, Freedman and Derry have more experience.

I just can't see how a rebuild of the club (which is what we need) can be over seen by Vieira.

Actually, I can't see how a rebuild can happen under parish, truth be told.

As always with everything Parish does it is very confusing delayed muddled and slow.
Have to be honest I regard it as an odd choice.
However if this is due to a player power take over then it is sort of plausible. And personally I feel some fresh leadership would be very interesting now. I just feel that SP has run his corse.
He has however been a fantastic leader for Palace and would still be ok to carry on. So either way it’s a win. We just need to know what is going on moving forward.

No one probably expected PV to become Hodgson's successor. I'm not sure about it (due to his Arsenal connection and now Ian Wright will keep on "yakking" about his former teammate), but anybody taking the hot seat at Selhurst Park has my full backing.
He's my club's main man and no way should be slaughtered even before he has started on his Eagle-journey.
Wish him the best of luck (and he needs for sure 100% support from everyone connected) - let's not just hope he becomes a Panic Vieira!!
PS! Has he signed yet - Friday morning July 2nd local time in Thailand?

If Vieira become manager he will be the only black manager in the prem. As we morph to a darker shade as a nation, Palace are right up there leading the conversion in football. Especially if we are taken over by the likes of Thierry Henry and his conglomérate of ex black players. Interesting times. Wonder if this will happen?

I expect that there will be a lot of media talk because of his skin colour and no doubt any time there is a racist incident he will be asked for his opinion even if it is nothing to do with palace.

I hope for our sake and his that the conversation is about his great managerial abilities rather than as the token black manager.

It is taking a very long time to confirm Vieira as manager, it is almost creepy.Hopefully not another about face!

WTF are you talking about? You sound like Oswald Mosely. If we got a white manager and an ownership team of white ex-players would you say anything? Personally it strikes me as very odd that there are not more black managers in the game when you consider how many players are black. There's also some right snowflakes tumbling out of the woodwork with regard to his potential employment. Oh my god they might focus on us having a black manager. At least the media might actually focus on us rather than saving 10 seconds of air time to have sly digs at us. Half of Croydon is non-white, so maybe some positive media attention on a black man getting a senior management role would be hugely beneficial...even if it upsets those ironing their UKIP banners in Kent.

Ultimately he'll be judged by most on results and performances, thankfully.

Disaster if true

Not achieved anything as a manager and just because he was a good player doesn’t mean he will be a good manager.

Another de boer and the fact he was so far down our contender list says it all.

Whose contender list is this? The Sun's? 442's? Yours? As far as I can see two turned us down - NES & Favre (the latter wasting everyone's time and energy!). As far as the rest they (i.e. Howe - now in this merry-go-round who has actually employed him?? - Cooper, Lampard, Parker etc) have quite probably all been rejected by SP & CPFC.
Mind you what do I know - perhaps you've owned an EPL club!

I think I may be correct in saying that no EPL manager had any experience of the EPL until they got a job at an EPL club. Some do better than others but who is to say Vieira isn't going to fall in the Wenger, Klopp, Pep, Potch, Rogers camp.
