He wouldn't be my 1st 2nd or even 10th choice. We have to get behind him now Parrish has taken him on.

It's natural for some of us.
My wife reckons I can make the most stylish and expensive suits look like they're being modelled by a tramp.
I suppose she's technically right.

Seriously, you really don’t HAVE to. As your post shows, you can continue to criticise on the basis of no evidence for as long as you like.

Having spoken to a few supporters tonight, I can report there was a somewhat mixed reaction to the appointment of Vieira.Generally a feeling of being underwhelmed.

I can't imagine this guy lasting the entire season. Terrible choice, in my opinion. I would have preferred almost anyone else, even Cooper, who I didn't want at all.

Being a manager of NYFC is a joke, completely worthless experience. If we were going with an ex-player, I would have vastly preferred Lampard.

It makes me think that we should have allowed NES to bring over whoever he wanted. At least he could have or probably would have, kept us up.

Vieira is in way over his head in the PL, taking over a side that needs a massive and risky overhaul. I am pissed off over this. I hope SP and the board are prepared to pull another FdB, and hire a real manager before Christmas.

FFS.

I just hope the fans will be patient at the start of the season. Even if we'd hired Pep, Klopp, or Sir Alex, I'm not sure any of them would inspire us to start the season with a string of scintillating victories, given the roster turnover, the time it takes to build a squad, and possibly the lack of investment. Let's see where we stand, where we're headed, and how we're playing – in February.

I think he really need a dammed good chance at it. He apparently likes attacking football & is a good man manager. The old tired choices really haven't set the world on fire so maybe this guy can shake things up.

I cannot believe how so many seem to be writing this appointment off as a disaster. When you have players like David Silva saying he is one of the best coaches he has played under, that will do for me.
Not sure what some fans wanted, personally Favre, once he was linked, would have been my choice but he didn’t want it. Move on.
I have confidence that this appointment will work and that we are in for an exciting time, not immediately but given time.
We should all get behind him and make him feel wanted

It is clear that most ‘posters’ are suffering from frustration, disappointment and uncertainty!

Frustration, over the time it has taken to appoint our new leader.

Disappointment, that PV appeared to be 4th/5th/6th choice, having been rejected, by some higher profile options...if ever they were options, and...

Uncertainty, over PV’s experience at this level and his relatively short career on the touch line.

Sure, we would all have liked to have seen Nuno or a known and ‘proven’ manager arrive at SE25, but none come with a guarantee of success. There have been many big name failures over the years!

The truth is, this is a results based business, so if PV does an ‘FdB’, then his and our future is bleak. However, he may just surprise us all. His name and French connections may produce some bright and youthful talent, his name may attract an experienced general, a la Yohan Cabaye. He may already have been on the blower to Pep, asking if he can ‘borrow’ the latest Phil Foden for a season... !

We just don’t know, so let’s wait and see and judge HIM on his style of football, signings and above all results.

Who knows, “this time next year Patrick, we could be ..?” (answers, ‘sur une carte postale, svp’

Mange toot.
