Did anyone else visit the Bier Keller, which was in a basement below Marks and Spencer, entrance on the high street?

My word, this is the year I was born.

I have frequented the Dulwich Woodhouse on a few occasions, mainly imbibing in their garden. Was always a pleasant experience.

I can vouch for the fact that I visited this establishment on more than one occasion.
Sobriety was certainly not on the agenda !

also known as 'daveys cellar' i think?
was very popular with office girlies getting on the vino.
there was (is?) bishops wine bar, tucked in the corner of the entrance to upper level of whigift.
a bit of a secret drinking hole, with hole being the operative word!

The passage of time (Several years) has dimmed the memory but I have a feeling I might have consumed beer from glasses bigger than pint glasses.
It could be my memory playing tricks with me!

Possibly 'Davy's Wine Vaults' ??
I have no recollection of Bishop's wine bar.

i painted a very large house to the rear of the pub.
one day a large removal lorry pulled up & 2 fellas got out & waited by the lorry.
10 mins later a woman walks up, they open the back of the (empty) lorry up & all 3 got in.
I dont think they were discussing a quote to re-locate.

Kennards where the first shop in britain to have all glass window at the front of the shop. in the 1930s

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn
