I don't think Maddison played in Prem for Norwich. I'm sure he moved from Coventry and then played one season for Norwich in the Championship. Getting back to the point though, Wjinoudum was relegated with Newcastle where he played mostly on the wing and look how good he turned out at L'pool.

Wonder what you think now, Willo, after we (probably) have signed yet another player from a relegated club (Andersen/Fulham)? I know he plays for Lyon, but his credentials stem from playing for the Cottagers.

The 6ft 4in defender showed leadership qualities at Fulham,took free kicks over a wall, but on occasions was found wanting when having to turn quickly to thwart an attack.He would benefit from some extra pace but I am not suggesting that he is a slouch.
