He seemed loyal and good, good and loyal. I wish him well. In particular, as a former keeper, I wish him several unexpected opportunities to shine, turning back time in the twilight of his career.

I'd ask him for his autograph, but he'd only drop the pen.

Jackson.. Wan Bissaka.... Sansom.. Nicholas.. Cannon.. Guehi.... Zaha... Thomas.. Byrne... Holton.. Rogers.. that should do it..

Burnley? His career must be wayning!

agree (to an extent) - we play poorly and lose to some guy putting it in the top corner. Come onto Holmesdale and everyone's blaming WH.

Not saying he's the best keeper we've had but i've seen quite a few worse over the years.

Got a lot of unfair stick on this site. The one which comes to mind was that Trent AA freekick whipped in the top corner which some felt he should have saved.

He's no Guaita or Speroni but he's done he's bit to help the cause. Good luck and thank you, Wayne. Hope you have a clanger when you return to Selhurst Park one day.

Good luck Wayne .
The big problem he had was taking over from a lot of supporters favourite player Speroni . This has happened in the past and will happen again .

Best of luck Wayne, thanks for the seven years at Selhurst, got a lot of stick from the fans which was not always deserved.
Usual stuff re keepers make one mistake and lose 1- 0 and your names mud, centre forward misses umpteen easy chances then scores in the last minute and becomes a hero, who'd be a keeper.

I've seen a load of far worse Palace keepers than Hennessey in my time, that's for sure. I wonder sometimes if he lacked the mindset to get to the top, as he had a lot of attributes. If Burnley sell Pope I'm sure Wayne will do well for them - he's excellent under a high ball. Some of his mistakes seemed concentration-related more than anything, and his best football seemed to coincide with a threat to his place from the other keeper on our books.

I wonder whether he was, as I suspect, another target for those who take it upon themselves to take offence at private jokes that are f*** all to do with them and work perfectly as intended in the context they were made, or whether he really, truly didn't know who the Nazis were? In the very unlikely event that it was the latter, he'd surely be the thickest bloke to ever play for the club? What a funny old world where you're better off pretending to be unbelievably dumb than you are telling people you don't know and who've never met you to mind their own business.

Either way, cheers Wayne and all the best.

I was always a WH supporter and got annoyed with others wanting to make him a scapegoat when he wasn't responsible for some of our conceded goals.

Guaita has established himself but being human he has made his own quota of errors but doesn't seem to get the abuse that Wayne usually got.

Guess we will never ever replace John Jackson as our best ever keeper - many saying the best uncapped keeper in England - ah, but I reminisce about the not so good old days!

His only fault really was having weak wrists but if he had strong wrists he would not have been playing for us. I liked him and after all a few keepers did not replace him.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).
