Never got the clamour surrounding Abraham.
so it'd be Edouard for me.

may not be as good a Benteke in his Pomp(but we don;t have that either), - and probably isn't as good a target man, but we need another striker in the squad, and will freshen things up. Looks Lively, and makes good runs. think he'll fit in well with zaha/eze/olise etc

I guess I was hoping we could improve on CB, but then at 15m Edouard is a snip, even if we tripled his wages.

I like that Aigoun was with Edouard at PSG - the connection bodes well.

Nah no way. Benteke wipes the floor with both.

Callum Wilson would be perfect, an AJ clone is needed

I cannot see Palace forking out £40m on Abraham - in any case he's not worth it.

In fact for £40m and Abraham's purported inflated wages I reckon we could get:
- Edouard
- Kabak and
- Lookman
and pay their wages and even have a few pennies left over!
That's much better value IMO.

I suggested Edouard on this forum a year or so back when he was brilliant. To be honest he’s been a shadow of his former self this past year. Looks disinterested at times and slow. What I would say is that the same is true for some other Celtic players which is why Rangers stopped them winning 19 in a row. Neil Lennon took the good team Brendon Rodgers built and managed to turn it into a second rate side in the space of 18 months.

So I would favour Edouard at the right price because he has shown he can do it and honestly is capable against the top sides. He knows how to score and at his best offers pace and a strikers instinct and something different from Benteke. The caveat is that he needs to get fit and be motivated. If his relationship with Aigoun and the presence of Viera convinces him to come and to work hard it’s a no brainier. He’ll be worth more than Abraham in a season or two.

I suspect Leicester might come back in. Rodgers knows a player when he sees one and he clearly thinks he’s good enough for this league.

I can't help but feel Abraham's the sort of player there has been a lot of noise about for quite a while but has not quite justified the hype around him. Don't think he has developed as well as he could and if he wasn't from a `big` club would opinions of him be as high?

The difference in supposed transfer fee (40mill compared to 15mill) would leave a massive 25mill to be invested elsewhere whilst the prolonged cost in wages would also have a significant difference.

We always seem to have a habit for being linked to a player several transfer windows before we sign them, and we have been linked to Dembele for several.

I'd rather we took a bit of a risk given the financial differences and went for Dembele.

Academic, surely? I bet the club has no interest whatever in Abrahams at the quoted price.

Sadly, he could be another talent to wither on the vine, like Loftus-Cheek, as a consequence of Chelsea's grossly over-inflated price tag and unreasonable demands.

As to Edouard, is even this real? Are we in actual talks / any engagement with Celtic at all? This seems to be one of those names that pops up every single window with no real substance to it.

Mdueke (spelling?) does seem a more realistic and possibly desirable purchase.

The new coach has links to Edouard and he has only a year on his contract. Plus, we have shown interest previously. There could be something in it.

No doubt, probably a few teams are interested in Abraham. He looked good on occasion, but I'm not sure about the price, plus I haven't seen any strong links to us.

According to the ITKs on Twitter we have no interest in him so presumably the links have been generated by media or his agent

If they were the same price, I'd say Abraham, but he's a much greater risk at £40 million and £80k a week. Edouard will be less than half that amount and half the wages and would get my vote, if I had one.

I suspect that it's agent talk to try and get Leicester or Brighton to hurry up and work out a deal. Obviously I don't want him to go to Brighton as they could be dangerous with someone who could score goals.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
