Fantastic result in Cape town against the world champions, but we got away with a few decisions tonight. The two tries denied to them were close, one was wrong decision according to the radio, and Hamish was lucky to stay on the pitch after fouling the Saffa, with an illegal hoist, but you need a bit of luck! One nil to the B and I Lions, bring on next week!

Lions deserved it overall.
Courtney Lawes m.o.m for me.
Let's face it saffas are breaking the arse out of the laws by not calling their head coach, the head coach, and having him act as waterboy.
Also feckin dull to watch.
They make Exeter chiefs look like the Baba's.

It was an enjoyable match. The balance wasn't quite right in the selection to start with for the Lions but when the new front row came on, it made a big difference. Biggar wasn't great - expect Farrell to start next game. The Lions also improved when Murray came on.

Both sides, real hard men, putting their bodies on the line for the shirt they’re wearing, love the Lions tours, shame they weren’t a bit more frequent

Farrell isn't the best fly half in England at moment. After a season in the Championship he's not sharp enough to play at this level.

Excellent performance by the other England players though. Itoji was not on form during the 6 nations, he's now back his ball stealing best. Winning some of those turnovers simply wouldn't be possible.

I like having Daley at centre. You wonder who'd play full back if England tried the same.

I thought Farrell was better than Biggar here. I wouldn't mind seeing Smith but Gatland probably won't risk it. I don't want to be too rude but I thought Daly was awful in the centre. The match rating he got in the paper today was a four. Itoje got a 9, Lawes 8. Most got 7s.

I see Neil Francis got the sack for calling Marcus Smith: A David Beckham hairstyle with Oompa loompa skin, a bit embarrassing as he's half Phillipino! Francis always slates England anyway, I would follow him the odd time just for a laugh.

The most frustrating part for the Lions was that SA's only moments in the second half came from errors. One chasing too hard on a loose pass which allowed a 60m break, one getting underneath a rank SA cross-kick where they went 60m. Add that to the unnecessary penalties in dangerous areas in the first half (Daly not releasing, Curry's late hit) and we gifted them almost all their points.

Fitness wise, the Lions look like they can blow SA away late on in games. Interesting to see if SA benefit from the workout their lungs got on Saturday but having the big lads (Lawes, Itoje) play as well as they did won't be helping SA, nor will the strength in depth we have there - finished with Curry and Lawes? Here's Watson and Beirne for you to deal with.

Some iffy refereeing, albeit some very tight calls too. Berry seems to be taking a player view of it in letting the game flow, only intervene when he really needs to, more lenient, albeit it looks a little odd vs how most referees would play it at present.

It's going to be a great series.

Rassie's having a hissy fit currently.

Has completely lost the plot with that hour long video moaning about the ref. Undermines the tour too.

Noticed he failed to mention the no hands tackle on Daly that wasn't called as a foul!

Also Itoje being tackled around the head. I genuinely thought the tries should have been disallowed too - one was close but still no cigar. Rassie moaning is so ungracious - to say the least. I presume he will face sanctions now too. Crosses the line of bringing the game into disrepute. I've always liked Rassie but this is as bad as Eddie Jones' mouthing off, worse really. Gatland's another moaner but this is a new level that shouldn't happen.
