Maybe refs will think our players are having thier shirts pulled all the time? Might be handy. Can't get over how s*** the kit is.

Found another picture Sorry but this is just awful looks like body painting…count me out for buying this top ..even our lookalike Red Bull tin 1860 kit is better than this.. Wish our yellow kit was our home kit Edited by manwitheagletattoo (03 Aug 2021 11.02pm) Attachment: C547C037-EE21-4902-B009-A2419E9F9861.jpeg (236.85Kb)

I quite like it. It's a bit different, stripes and sash combo. As usual if we have a good season it'll grow on me even more... if we play poor then I'll go off it pretty quick!

It's a no from me, what were they thinking. Many many people wanted a proper sash and they get this.

I wanted and hoped for a sash but I like it. I normally prefer the away kit but I will probably get this for me and the kids.

I know since Malcom introduced the concept of radical change, club colours from claret n blue, to red n blue, the sash n nickname from glazers to eagles innovation is part n parcel of the Palace image. And yet for some of us would like a return of the 60s old school sensible working class look is much missed. Is that a crime granted I liked Captain Scarlet but not always at football.

As I have said I like it but I do find it interesting how it really seems to have polarised views if we are a cross section of the fanbase. As for paying homage to old kits I would love to see us have as an away or third kit a white shirt with the claret and blue stripe/sash one year like the ones from around 62 a modern twist on that could look very stylish imo. Also liked the 70's claret and blue kits we had. Think in 2005 we payed homage to them but it looks good.

The home shirt incorporates Palace’s historic association with the sash, as diagonal red and blue stripes cut across the front. This is posted on the Palace website. Has anyone seen the back? Please don’t tell me they are straight. If it’s plain on the back then it’s ok for me. Edited by dreamwaverider (04 Aug 2021 8.41am)

I love the shirt but wish the sash didn't stop where it does. It's nice to mix things up and I DO find it an interesting mashup of our recent history. It feels like a shirt that will be pivotal in our history. I just can't decide which way it'll see us pivot.

Personally, I loathe it. It's visually abhorrent. The colours are "wrong", the diagonal stripes are wrong, they don't end "in the right place" anyway, and all-in-all it looks like tweaking for tweaking's sake. Strange that in a season we produce our best new kit in years (the third kit), we come up with this crime against humanity. But, I said personally. That's just my opinion and I'll be the first to admit that having watched Palace since the late 60s, I'm hardly in my fashion moment. The strange thing is, much as I dislike the kit, I get it. It is "modern". The design is innovative. It does set us apart from virtually every other kit in the PL. It does craft a strong identity for the club. Is it marmite? Definitely. But shops sell a truckload of marmite and marmite is a pretty profitable business. Putting my own personal taste aside, I actually think the shirt is pretty good in so far as it does what you probably want a contemporary football shirt to do. Still thinks it's revolting, but I do get it.

A lot of teams have basically kept their colours over the generations yet we have moved on from the old claret and blue strip. We have even changed our nickname from the 'Glaziers' to the 'Eagles' !! From a personal perspective I would like to revert back to our original colours and nickname. At least the stadium is still 'Selhurst Park' but I suspect that might change.
