You could be right again, but I’m sure we played Bolton at home around that sort of era and they had green shirts.

Fat Sam Allardyce was playing for Bolton

I was right again

it was red, green was early 80s

we played Bolton quite regularly back then - I'm only going from memory - I may dig out the programme from the bowels of my collection, but I saw Fat Sam score an OG for Bolton in a 4-3 loss to Chelsea the season before - I kid you not it was the decisive seventh goal and Chelsea were 3-0 down with 13 minutes left then brought on Clive Walker who won the match single-handed (bit like Bale at Inter, not far off, he was on fire down the left wing, all four goals came that way).

Well I’ll be fcuked!! I went to that game!! I went with my older cousins Chelsea supporting boyfriend. I was only about 13/14 years old but I remember it well, when Chelsea went 3-0 down the ground half emptied, but my cousins boyfriend refused to leave. I have to say I loved Clive Walker, I also went to a game he took the then mighty Liverpool apart in the cup

At my age, I’m just glad I can remember anything that far back

Someone mentioned goals against us, one that stands out for me was Matty Phillips for QPR at the Whitehorse end, superb strike, shame they were 3-0 down at the time. QPR must’ve been bad that day, Joel Ward scored

Johnny Byrne v Aston Villa at Villa Park in the cup. That was about 60 years ago.
Cliff Holton free kick v Watford from very close to the halfway line at vicarage road.

all four goals were beauties that night, including the strike from Darren Pitcher (now sadly departed I believe), as for goals against us the Kasami volley for Fulham is head and shoulders above most, though when Bristol City did us in the play offs at Selhurst they scored a wonder goal or two

Such a sad story about Pitcher. I'd forgotten about it.

Last 10 min equaliser from Geoff Thomas against the Spuds away in 1990. Gazza scored a "clever" quickly taken free kick late in 1st half. We really went at them 2nd half, inspired by GT and his trusty "golf" boots, who really stole the show from Gazza on that day, making the packed standing away end go mental.

So many great memories.

I'll just add that Jimboyo scoring an equaliser off his knee in the last minute at the old Den was a highlight. Against a relatively good Millwall side.

It was fun getting home after that. A huge mob of Miiiiiii just refused to leave the ground while we were being kept in (for our own safety no doubt). They were just staring over at us, seething.

Glorious.

Me and three pals were in the front row on the side of the ground that had the Shelf for that game.

All game, these huge Spurs fans behind us, black lads, were on about how any Palace fans in their end would be hammered.

When the goal went in we kept schtum but a few gaggles of Palace were celebrating.

After the game, the black lads were in a huge mob waiting for the Palace to come on down. You saw a few specs of red and blue coming down and then bang. It can't have been pretty.
