Really believe if eze Ferguson olise and Tompkins were injury free all this season that we definitely have a team good enough for a top six finish, we must have the most promising squad outside the top six at the moment, looking forward to entertaining football for a change can’t wait for the season to begin.

The Team would have to "gel" first.

That is one very big IF given the current situation with those guys and our recent history concerning injuries. Like you looking forward to some really entertaining play and enough points to keep us away from a long relegation battle.Top six may have to wait another season though - unless everything gels in a most unpalace way !

I can understand the hope and anticipation, but not the optimism.

Ferguson, Guehi and Olise haven't played a single, solitary premier league game. Neither have the best of the youth team graduates, Rak-Sahki et al.

It's too easy to mistake youth for potential, and potential for ability. How much our young players have of the latter is literally unknown.

I'm sure there were similar optimistic posts this time last year.

If there were, I can't remember them.

Hopefully in the new year we will have all our best prospects available, ok some are unproven but going forward the players at our club have the chance to get into Europe that we have had for a long time. I will probably feel different next Saturday at 5 o’clock but always the optimist
