He is not going anywhere. If the polls were showing a consistent 10 point lead for Labour with Starmer considered a genuine leader in waiting then I would imagine the powers that be within the Tory party would be looking to remove him. But they are not. Starmer is even more unpopular and is a lame duck.

These politicians are all about legacy and Johnson will want to win at least one more general election. Suspect he might go soon after that.

However, if Johnson were to be hit by the metaphorical London bus so beloved of any kind of British political 'what if', then I reckon it would be down to Sunak and Raab. Patel is good but in my opinion, lacks the essential charisma to win the national votes. Plus not sure if she can be trusted in the role. Too many questions over her links to Israel.

Sunak would be the bookies favourite but never underestimate Rabb. He is in the FCO, has kept a low profile but given the s*** that I suspect is going to hit the fan in the next 24-36 months on the foreign policy front with regards to China, then he might well, depending on how it all goes, actually be the natural successor.

And never, ever, think Johnson is not a ruthless b******. He is and the current 'chaos' is probably a lot more manufactured by him than people realise. When you are playing the game at that level, almost nothing happens without it being thought out several moves ahead, especially when it comes to how you deal with those closest to you and creating mayhem is an age-old tactic by way of ensuring that those around you who might wield the old 'et-tu' blade are never allowed to get their feet truly comfortable under tables.

My criticism of him is that he seems to seek popularity at the expense of clear policies.

Its is a strange time when a Conservative government seems to be making policy on the hoof based on the latest polls.

Generally people respect leadership , it is not a requirement to agree with everything but you want a leader to lead.

In May Labour were 11 pts behind in voting intentions, now only 6pts

I could honestly list examples of why the CCP will invade Taiwan and be here all night doing it, plus this thread really isnt the place for that however one example is they are retrofitting their fleet of cargo ships into helicopter carrier/troop transports and actively training for beach landings, have a google of the cargo ship zhen hua 28, they have actually stolen the idea off the US who stole the idea off us as Britain did something similar in the Falklands but its a cheap and effective way of moving huge numbers of troops from China into Taiwan quickly.

China does not currently have enough assault ships to breach Taiwanese defences effectively do they are working on this by building a load of Type 75 assault ships that also act as carriers, you can learn more about the T75 here [Link]

We had a multinational flotilla of warships off the coast of Taiwan just the other day sending a clear message to the CCP that they wont take the island easily, the CCP responded by saying they have stocks of carrier sinking missiles aimed at the US led fleet

The last part sabre rattling no doubt however you cant ignore the fact they are actively equipping and training for an invasion, you can choose to take this seriously or not, the ccp are.
