Like in Kabul?

Well, I can't claim kinship with the Taliban....that's religious 7th century Arabic social conservativism....if you hadn't noticed it's quite a bit different from the western tradition.

As earlier debates have shown you write in support of Islam expanding here much more than I do. I would ban both male circumcision and halal meat.

You want to take in Afghan refugees.....when 99 percent of that country supports Sharia.

It means you can sit there tutting from the sidelines disapprovingly while having utterly convinced yourself that you are right and that none of the perceived ills in the world are the fault of anyone who thinks similarly to you, and that things were better in the ‘good old days’ of Blighty, when you weren’t even alive.

That means you can sit there thinking ‘not my fault guv’ at literally anything ‘bad’ that goes on the world and blame it on ‘elites’ who you never name and the ‘left’ who have never really held any meaningful power in the west in the last 50 years in any major nation or economy.

It’s a leap of the imagination on speed.

I'd say some of that characterisation is right but obviously I disagree with you on perspective.

At least you understand some of my positioning I suppose.....though I think your last paragraph is pretty wrong, especially on the left not holding power.

Their ideologies hold all the major institutions, government and law....most of the media and hollywood... It's even ruling football now. Yet you want to write it up as somehow false.

As a man (and an apparent 'alpha' one at that) you seem to know a lot about how women think and what they like.

Women can wear that they want without fear of being touched up or worse by men. Any 'crossed wires' (nice euphemism for sexual assault or rape) are all the male's fault unless consent has been given.

How wonderfully idealistic.

Sadly, there is no doubt that how a woman interprets male advances is dictated by his perceived attractiveness or suitability.

It's also all very well to think that women should take no responsibility for dressing provocatively, but this just isn't real world stuff. A rapist doesn't care about your ideals.

How hard is consent as in idea to understand? Rape is never the woman’s fault, no matter what they are wearing.

I don't think Hrolf is saying that.

UK to welcome 20,000 Afghans amid Taliban takeover.

A policy enacted by a so called conservative government, which will be forced onto the innocent working classes because our elites are globalistic trash.

It will be enlarging already expanding Islamic enclaves in the country....no doubt this figure will rise five or more times once their family members eventually come. 'It's like watching a nation heaping up its own funeral pyre'.

These people should be settled in existing Islamic countries.

Yeah, I'm so deluded to think that social conservatism has lost in this country aren't I Dan?....The honest truth is that it lost decades ago.

It shows just how different from reality your description was.

The actual conservative party now attacks people with views on immigration, feminism and the alphabet ideologies that the past party use to have talking at conferences.

Like Hitchens said the conservative party needed to die for real conservatism to survive and emerge again.....but it didn't, thanks to the house price blue rinsers selling out their descendants for the here and now.

You appear to be suggesting that women should think twice about what they wear in case rapists feel more inclined to rape them. I'll leave it to others to decide if that is a reasonable request.

If someone plans to rape a woman, I would think 'that' would be the root of the problem, rather than women not trying hard enough to placate them. You don't befriend rapists, you imprison them.

This thread is getting dangerously close to using a drop out who shot up a three year old kid to point the finger at feminism and sexual minorities as partial cause for his mindset. It's little different from a 'What more could we have done to help the Manchester Bomber?' style contribution. I expect he had a bee in his bonnet about the very same groups.

Perhaps hold compassion for those actually in these groups who actually get on with their lives, rather than attempt to blame women having choices, or gay people playing a meaningful role in society for the behaviour of men who hate women because they don't have the social skills to get a girlfriend. Do we honestly think everyone walking around needs to be Brad Pitt to get a shag or hitched, or that these other groups that are pointlessly attacked really have some kind of easy breezy path through life? Life isn't easy for anyone. Ultimately regardless of colour, creed or roll of the dice we all have to get on with it. If people feel so sorry for themselves that they wipe others off the planet, much like the 'rape' point, there needn't suddenly be some kind of pressing need to adjust on behalf of normal, law abiding people. It's just one of life's outliers doing what they have always done, and will always do.

Yeah, like I've been making this point for over a decade....but you think its wrong to talk about these issues because of a terrible event.

So....you do realise you're in a political forum don't you? What are you suggesting? That these points shouldn't be made? Nothing derogatory has been said and no defence made for this terrible murderer.

That overly long paragraph contains so many strawmen it could sit in a field and frighten away birds.

I simply didn't make those arguments but was referring to the excesses of feminist and alphabet ideologies and the affects they have had in attacking both masculinity and traditional male/female roles. Ultimately increasing the numbers of dysfunctional people within society.

You prefer to suggest that these observations are an attack on women and gays instead of what I actually said about political and social ideologies....because you are a big believer in the neo liberalism that propagates them. So an attack on them is perhaps an attack on your value system.

This awful event is reflective of a deeper dysfunction going on within society.....dysfunctions resultant from dysfunctions.

As stated you have compassion for the man, his situation, and seek to link it to a deeper dysfunction in society... which soon turn out to be (always) women who are essentially independent and industrious outside of the home and those who are of other sexualities and so on. Types you routinely centre in on and do not show such trademark 'compassion' for. I tend to think that with kid killers the buck stops with them, and that they aren't just a handy gateway to attacking completely innocent and decent members of society that you're not particularly keen on.

It's this kind of oft seen slant that has led you to drinking from political wells that clearly 99% of the general public would never touch. You seem to spend about ten minutes thinking of the ills of your own outlook and behaviour compared to the ten year mantra for other peoples. Probably for the best all things considered. You're so narrowly group based and detached from those you seek to lump into a separate steaming pile for entirely arbitrary reasons.

Your outlook skews and limits your perception of others in unhealthy ways, so ultimately you're the one losing out anyway. I would've thought the lesson of this horrendous incident is to not get caught up in such stark and largely imagined separations between people, whether it's gender based or whatever. Doing so certainly didn't do this man, or those around him, any favours.

Yeah I don't believe that number if history tell us anything when it comes to immigration our government(s) lie and lie about the numbers.

97,000 coming from the EU when freedom of movement was introduced, well it was millions and the Blair government knew that would happen.

3.5 million EU citizens to claim settled status in UK post Brexit. The figure is now north of 5.5 million.

20,000 Afghan refugees my guess more like 100,000.
