According to Talksport this morning Tammy was on 160k a week so I expect well out of our price range.

As far as I'm aware, there have only been 2 ' proven ' scorers at Premier League level recently available.

Tammy Abraham was out of our budget in terms of fee and wages.

Danny Ings would probably view moving to us as a sideways move and I suspect he's on big money at Villa.

Who else is there ? Have I forgotten anyone ?
I genuinely can't think of anybody.

PALACE, ARSENAL APART ON NKETIAH

Crystal Palace and Arsenal remain apart on their valuation of striker Eddie Nketiah, reports The Athletic.

Palace are willing to pay £10million for the England U21 international but the Gunners are holding out for closer to £20m.

I hope we laugh in the face when they suggest that. I wouldn't go a penny higher than 10m and I'm not even convinced we should pay that. I'd say our creativity needs to improve drastically if a 'fox in ther box' type striker is going to succeed at Palace. He looks way too lightweight for our current style. I feel similar to ther Brewster situation last year.

I'm not sure the 'fox in the box' label is quite right, he's got more to his game than that.

Plus, in the modern game I'm not sure that player even still exists.

Ye fair enough. I guess he's more pacey, lightweight striker. Even so I just fear we won't get the ball anywhere near him up front. We currently struggle to lump it anywhere near Benteke. Though I guess a threat in behind would give another option and potentially stretch the game.

Yep, he's not the answers to all our problems, but if we can retain the ball a little better, and get CG on the ball in between the lines, it brings those sort of runs into play.

Yep, and Olise will help as well although we can't expect too much of him too soon. Such a shame that we'll have to wait so long until we see Eze again

We havent seen Olise play yet, so not worth worrying about imo

A deal upto 20m I would agree with if it is say 12m and the rest add-ons but straight up 20m no.

I don't understand why we are not even trying to do more loan deals from abroad.

He also only has one year remaining on his contract though. So I'd be inclined to go with the same approach you've suggested for Hughes. Paying over 10m for a player who has only scored 5 prem goals for me would not be sensible business.

So he does for some reason I was thinking of Nelson who I know has a deal until 2023

The difference will be due to the age of this player Palace could be stung with paying some sort of compensation which they wouldn't with Hughes if trying the free deal.

This player appears to be injured anyway so not worth touching now unless maybe a loan deal.
