Edouard is in.

9 of 10 for me.

Now we have 2 weeks for the team to gel. A few away on international duty, but I feel like most will be able to train.

Fingers crossed, as we have 2 tough games coming up. Would be nice to nick a point (or three) in at least one match.

Its been a great window. And my didn't we need it. The management has (inadvertently?) played a blinder. We had far less competition than usual for mid-level players and sellers are in financially weak positions. And our new manager seems to have given us additional pulling power. We no longer have to target experienced journeymen, and overpay them to get them across the line, it seems.

I dont think we have any real gaps now. We have plenty of midfield attacking options, some young others injured but there is cover. And while everyone talks about Mitchell needing cover, we have Jairo and at a push Schlupp. For RB there's Clyne (ahem...Ferguson) Kelly, Tompkins.

9/10

Spot on Aray - that's how i see it. I've posted before that it was a risk letting a lot of players contracts wind down but this has enabled PV DF and Parish to get in players who PV want's to work with and vice versa. I am sure Edouard signing as well as other's would have been influenced by having PV as a manager.

Before the window opened and with many contracts being allowed to run out, most of us said it would take more than 1 window to rebuild the squad and there were, understandably serious concerns about our ability to get a decent manager and attract the right kind of players.

Fast forward 3 months and what have we achieved?
IMO we have:
- hired an exciting manager and back-up team who I believe will get the best out of our squad and who have shown our academy players that there is a route into the 1st team squad if they're good enough.
- strengthened our defence with the acquisition of 2 quality CBs who are well suited to the style of play the club wishes to embrace
- strengthened midfield with an exciting loan player and a solid and skilful player who can function in any of the midfield roles.
- strengthened the attack with a proven goal scorer who offers different qualities to our existing options and a young attacker who although not yet PL proven offers significant promise given his Championship performances.

Our outlay for players bought of about £60m rising to c£75m is significant for a club our size but IMO we have spent it very well indeed.

Whilst there are still a couple of positions we need to strengthen, we have exceeded what I thought would be possible in this window and I give the club 9.5/10 for this window and look forward to seeing how our team perform over the rest of the season.

I think we have enough to finish comfortably in mid-table assuming we don't have an injury horror year.

This thread should be revisited in half a seasons time. I recall a couple of years back we had the “worst” window folk could remember and yet during that window we picked up Ayew who by the end of the season turned into the bargain buy of the window.
I hope these players turn out to be a huge success for our club for years to come. On paper it looks like we have done well but football is after all played on grass and not paper.

We have spent freely for a change and it looks like the money has been spent well.
I for one thank Parish for the money spent and the investment in the future - it is now time for PV and the players to show what they can do.
for me it has been a good window on the face of it.

We also have Hannam for left back. V Watford in pre season he was ok and nearly scored.

Without Texter joining the board and parking $100m to spend none of this would have been possible. Great to see the internet teckies coming in at last. Texter owns fubo amongst others so he is cutting edge futur and he loves Palace.
Shame we didn’t secure a speedy winger on loan as there were plenty of loan deals done yesterday. Leicester got Lookman on loan which was frustrating.
But hey, what a window. Vieira undoubtedly attracts top french players. They are all in awe of him and rightly so. The guy is a legend and the way he has started there are some very exciting signs.
Bring on Tottenham. I’ll be back for that game. Let’s give em a roasting!!!

Prior to the window, I'd have suggested you bring your boots and shin pads!!

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Anyone know why Sky are reporting our net spend during the window as £10m? I’m confused.

The Guardian are showing net spend of £60.9 as follows:

Players in
Jacob Montes Midfielder — from Georgetown University undisclosed
Michael Olise Midfielder — from Reading £8m
Remi Matthews Goalkeeper — from Sunderland free
Marc Guéhi Defender — from Chelsea £18m
Joachim Andersen Defender — from Lyon £14.9m
Conor Gallagher Midfielder — from Chelsea loan
Will Hughes Midfielder — from Watford £6m
Odsonne Édouard Forward — from Celtic £14m

Players out
Stephen Henderson Goalkeeper — Free agent released
Jude Russell Defender — to Brentford undisclosed
Sion Spence Midfielder — to Bristol Rovers loan
Wayne Hennessey Goalkeeper — to Burnley free
Andros Townsend Winger — to Everton free
Patrick van Aanholt Defender — to Galatasaray free
James McCarthy Midfielder — to Celtic free
Brandon Pierrick Winger — to Velje undisclosed
Gary Cahill Defender — to Bournemouth free
Scott Dann Defender — to Reading free

Sky always show the fee as the highest it could possibly be, including all add ons. The Guardian show the lowest it could be, without add ons.
