Far too early to draw any positive conclusions, particularly when so much of the positivity is related to one game in which we played very well but spurs really didn't.

We will know how successful the squad / tactical / managerial change has been at the end of the season at the earliest. We can then compare our outlay for our points total and league placing (plus all the less empirical stuff like enjoyment, hope, worry and disappointment) with our previous top flight teams.

We should all enjoy yesterday of course (I watched it with my spurs supporting brother in law, so I certainly did!) but not read too much into it beyond that.

Agreed it's too early to say 'job done'. Like even Lineker acknowledged, it's been a long time since we played as well as we did yesterday at Selhurst and so many of us are exhilarated by the performance. We gained 3 unexpected points (although I did predict a narrow 2-1 win), and that provides us with a temporary cushion above the drop zone.

The performance will no doubt have encouraged the players to continue to work hard to improve the system so as to produce more consistent performances but that will take time.

As for Spurs. Yes they didn't play well BUT much of that was down to our not letting them by getting in their faces early. Most of the early fouls were by our lads as they were determined to keep Spurs under pressure. Once we gained control of the game it was Spurs who were committing the fouls as they tried to stop us. Basically, we out-fought them, we out-thought them and we outplayed them.

I have been watching the progress from pre season friendliest through to yesterday. So we started going down to the European champions. Then every game since we have played the league leaders. PV has got a great coaching team and with his undoubted experience it is starting to show. Yesterday we were really good and we made Tottenham look bad. All going to plan.

The squad rebuild has been exceptional. I had no arguments with letting go any of the 10 or so in the summer as they were all high earners and reaching the end of their careers. Every incoming player is an improvement to the squad and have the ability to double or treble their transfer value.

Once we have a fully fit squad, we will have an amazing squad that really should be pushing top 10. It will actually be a struggle to keep them all happy as we will have quality players on the bench.

All that being said, Spurs were very underpowered at the weekend and it showed. Tougher tests to come!

It's never a matter of "job done", but certainly it would appear the doom and gloom some talked about might be avoided.

For me I just pray to the Gods that we can avoid what I think is a pretty dire injury record as a team first and foremost. As stunning a performance as it was, we're still pretty threadbare in terms of depth, and the weekend still showed to me that some in the squad really aren't at the level we need.

However for me, I really can't remember a time when I've been was so excited to look forward to seeing us play as I am ahead of Eze's return (whenever that is). Tith Gallagher domineering box to box with Eze and Wilf out wide and Edouard upfront it could be just a joy to be a Palace fan.

basically, everyone was concerned that it would take time for new players to settle in and play in a new more possession-based style - well, it took about three weeks didn't it? getting 4 or 5 points from our first ten matches and having to keep faith with PV till the new year? Nope, we've dodged that bullet. With Hughes and Eze to come! well done Dougie, but SP bringing in Textor is a masterstroke, and you can see why Favre nearly took the job - SP kept his nerve and could sense (it seems to me) that PV knows what he's doing - crisis over.

Yes , great squad and manager! If we continue with this form, maybe beating Liverpool, lets hope Arsenal get a thumping win, or they might just be sniffing around pv.

The weaknesses are left back cover, another Centre Back those positions take the brunt of injuries and cards. We probably need a right winger. So three for January.

Except for a specialist LB, I bet/guess that aint going to happen. We have Tompkins, Kouyate and Kelly (not as bad as some make out) who can play CB. And with Olise and Eze to come back, where would this winger play? Of course injuries could change things.

I rate Hughes highly and can’t wait to see him and Gallagher controlling the midfield. Both can also push forward and score goals or one ‘hold‘ a bit.

When Eze is back we might even have an embarrassment of riches in midfield with Olise also pressing for a start.

II’ve criticised Mitchell in the past for being a bit ‘rabbit caught in headlights’ but he was sensational on Saturday. Good man.

Exciting times....

Kelly is a true professional and a credit to Palace but he’s a tad too leggy and mechanical for me. Easy to skin if you’re a quickie and I’d target him if I was the opposition.

I thought the (quality) winger would ..erm play on the Right Wing. You need to take the "P" out of Tom P kins.

There's a right winger for Everton who doesn't look bad.
