When you think about it, people with Down Syndrome are shut out of society to an extent that exceeds their problems. This guy is at least out there doing his part to ensure that people see the person, not just the condition. Fair play to the lad. Good luck to him.

No doubt some will cry tokenism, but often those same individuals don't leave room for any avenue that they don't perceive as such. In essence they just want to keep certain people down unless there's something it in for them personally (ideologically, financially etc). This lad has determination and a backbone. That's what counts.

Tiny Home Village in Albuquerque Helps Homeless Transition With Social Services and Opportunities - [Link] Quote In battling against the American homeless epidemic, it pays to think outside the box. The Tiny Home Village in Albuquerque isn’t just a place for someone to sleep out of the weather, it’s an occupational therapy project that helps the homeless reconnect with values and responsibility.
Set up to cultivate a strong community, the power of routine, and a sense of pride in oneself and surroundings, the Tiny Home Village (THV) hopes that its residents will be better prepared for when they finally get off the street. The County of Bernalillo, New Mexico, secured a 30-year lease on a property owned by the Albuquerque Indian Center to build a walled and gated community of about 30 tiny houses that had doors which lock and climate control to give residents a strong enough sense of security and permanence that they could begin to really turn their life around.

On similar lines Former Footballer Lou Macari doing a fantastic job to help the homeless to get off the street and back into society, What Fabulous idea and without the fanfare that some of today's footballers attract.

Everyone deserves a chance to get out of a tough spot, they won't all take it, but ideas like this at least offer a path to a better future.
