Will be sent back in January, that is the earliest he can be. It was too late to send him back in August, as Edouard signed on deadline. I guess he was kept in case the transfer didn’t go through, which of left us with only Benteke and Ayew. Edited by Painter (21 Sep 2021 5.14pm)

I don’t think he’s been given real chance ... sub appearances here and there... a player has to have a decent run ... we need a few strikers anyway ... I think he would score goals given the chance... let’s see...

I think he would score goals given the chance... let’s see... We fans haven't seen much of him, but his manager, coaches and teammates see him daily against Premier League opposition. Apparently they haven't seen enough to warrant match time.

Always amazed how many fans "know it all" Lol. What I will say is Benteke was always criticised, now the fans are singing his song.

Granted the guy hasn’t looked impressive so far, but the goal against Brighton shows that he has something in his locker…it was pretty special. Either way, he is under contract, and one injury and we are very light up top. I suspect, if the 15 games = purchase it true, SP will tell Vieria to only use him if absolutely necessary.

It's being suggested (Transfer Tavern) that PV wants to end his loan spell in January and send him back to Meinz. I had high hopes for him, but unfounded I'm afraid. He's not been able to prove he's worth keeping, despite his goal at Brighton, and it'll free up a space - and salary - for a player that PV wants. If this rumour is true I wish the lad well in his future career.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

It was widely reported when he joined that it was an 18 month loan with an enforceable buy it now clause that kicked in after 15 starts (not appearances). Have no reason to believe this was not true and would have been a sensible arrangement for all parties. He is gaining valuable experience training with a Prem side that is on the up and if he is good enough then Viera will keep him. Personally however I think he will be shipped out either in Jan or end of loan spell. We have sufficient players when you consider Wilf can play centrally and Eze can play behind the single striker, so when you consider we already have Benteke, Edouard and at a push Ayew, then I don't think we are that short. Let him go and give part of his salary to Gallagher if we can convince him to stay.
