Where is the surprise? Brexiteers knew we would fall down the world pecking order. They knew the USA valued us for the very reason that we provided the gateway into the huge EU market. They voted leave knowing the transatlantic relationship would greatly diminish but considered other factors to weigh heavier. Thus while I sympathise with the op it is little more than telling us night follows day.

You can go without warm food, just buy a loaf of bread and make it last a week! You can go without heating and hot water- just put an extra jumper or two on, and have a cats lick in the sink like we used to do! But medical insurance, thats a priority! You have medical insurance with us already? Hold on, ah, we don"t cover for that particular operation, but you can put it in if you like, for increased premiums obviously, and a clause that you cant claim on that particular disease for 15 years! where you gone? ......
