So....your point is? A penalty. Vardy scored as well, for both teams!

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

He's scored 3 goals already this season, a lot more than he usually does, I kinda think that's my point, after all, it's an Andros Townsend thread about his performance at Everton isn't it? I think somehow, goals are an important factor in a player's performance ;-)

Andros preferred to take penalties by Rafa, ahead of Richardlison.

Good on him, it's our loss I'm afraid.

The natural instinct is to equate Townsend playing well for Everton with us missing out, but it ain't necessarily so.

Many's the player who moved clubs because they genuinely felt they needed a new challenge to refresh them. People get stale in every industry. If he'd stayed at Palace, even under a more attack minded manager in Vieira, Townsend likely would not have had the fresh impetus that moving to Everton has generated. The fact that he's been a good signing for them doesn't make him a big loss for us.

Plus, we needed to create openings for Olise and Rak-Sahki anyway.

I always liked Andros but he has gone now and we have to look to the future.

He was a player who had good and bad spells though and we were looking to bring in younger players.

Glad to see he is in a purple patch now. Good luck to him (except against us) but probably it was the right time for him to move on.

Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.

Regardless of how Townsend plays for Everton, his wage demands were more than Guehi and Olise combined wages. It was a choice of extending an old players contracts or moving on and investing in youth.
The policy is investing in younger players, which has to be the right move.

Watching Townsend agaun today he looks a totally different player. He's almost exclusively in the attacking half and is very influential in the attacking moves.
And that's with a supposedly defensive manager in Benitez.

He's at it again, now ManU 1 Everton 1.

A lovely composed finish.

Andros, this is rubbing it in?

I'm finding it exceedingly annoying.

Good for him. Goes to show what a downer Hodgson put on all the players with his extreme negativity. Our players are starting to blossom under Vieira, so let's move on.
