Not sure to be honest with you. Mcdonald, for most people is a nobody. Quitting citing the division in the Labour Party is disingenuous. Seems like the Labour Party is starting move away from appeasing the looney left, and he's thrown his toys out the pram. Calling it a divide is akin to people far to the right claiming there is a "Culture War" after they realise they will never get their way. Reeves speech was a move back to the centre. Rayner was in the pub watching the Arsenal game with Starmer and Corbyn on Sunday with photographers on hand to share the pre-planned moment of unity. Wouldn't be surprised is someone for the centre of the parter tipped the press off about her having a couple too many and being in a mood to say something stupid. Making her less credible for major roles. Either way, opposition party's generally stay pretty quiet until a couple of years before a GE.

Fair points. Reeves' speech including the emphasis that if in power she and the leadership would make " tough decisions " is basically saying they would do a Labour version of " austerity ". In reality, opposition parties can and frequently do promise anything in non election years. McDonald has successfully turned the story of the conference yesterday to divided labour and away from other speeches. It's the same old gang, McDonnell, RLB causing trouble. Where's Burgon. Most pathetic on camera appearance yesterday was the odious Thornberry.

It's funny as a Tory I think that Boris is heading a Blairite government and yet the Labour supporters on here think he is somewhat to the right of Atilla The Hun. I would like to hear more about Labour's proposal for abolishing business rates. This tax needs to be reformed or abolished but how do you replace the taxes. Making Google and Amazon pay more will not even make a dent in the overall tax loss besides it is never a good idea to base your tax on a handful of companies what happens if they go broke? (they should pay more of course).

The likes of Campbell and Mandelson seem to be back on the seen too. The Corbynista 's are unbelievably poor political operators and easy to predict. Whilst the aging new Labour Crowds are experts this game. Whilst the centre of the party is announcing reasonable policies, they are happy for the left to keep being showing themselves up.
