Starmer's speech was worse than May's coughing speech!

Sir Keir says no to re-nationalisation.

But Boris says yes, in fact its about the only thing he can do with the railways, and there are several other privatisation disasters waiting to be saved.

This is Corbyn territory, and energy and water look like musts, the public have shifted imo, they see failure and fat cat shareholders disappearing now they are bust.

Along with corporation tax increases it looks like a Corbyn tory government!

Not for Sir Keir though he will be too busy protecting the rich and kneeling before the USA even more than Boris.

Boris is not 'scummy', he is as Starmer said, perhaps though the phrase could be more accurately directed at the labour leader himself ??

Funny old game, isn't it.......

Now labour has announced the Corbyn era as gone, it is good to see the government adopting his policies in some areas, whereas the opposition will continue to be irrelevant Blairites!

I watched the whole speech, quite an odd mix. Parts designed to bring tears to eyes, I noted Jo Wilcox's sister was placed at the front next to the poor couple whose daughter was murdered.

Lots of the usual platitudes, every leaders speech at every conference has same.

Only number I came away with was 3% of GDP to be invested into " scientific research ".

As usual it's all non specific spending until " the Clause 5 " meeting.

All the stuff about his parents was irrelevant to me. I am interested in what the policies are, not the back story of the leader.

As pointed out on BBc afterwards, he goes on and on and takes ages to make a point.

All in all, if the conference was a boxing match, the Corbynistas lost on points but are still hanging around.

Rayner continues to be an embarrassment so happy to have her in a senior position.

I would be pleased to have a competent opposition that can hold the Government to account properly and I don't see that yet.

I reckon Starmer could be out of the door within the year. The entire point of 'Project' Starmer was to effect the rule change around how leaders are chosen and with that now in place, I suspect he could soon be seen as surplus to requirements.

Ever since 2017, and Corbyn doing much better than expected in the GE, its been all about first getting rid, and then ensuring the likes of him never get a sniff of the leadership again. With Starmer at the forefront of it all be it the f***ING MENTAL second referendum manifesto pledge in 2019 to then lying through his teeth to win the subsequent leadership election to suspending Corbyn and now, to this conference and pushing through, on the back of some diabolical suspensions and so on, the changes to the leadership election process.

Now I loathe the Left and Labour from the bottom of my heart but what Starmer has been fronting is an absolute affront to anybody who believes in the right to have a political system as free and fair as possible.

Starmer is right to praise the achievements of the previous labour administration.

But the labour governments of Wilson and Blair were broad churches and kept the left onside.

He is doing the opposite, and has no vision to appeal to voters, not enough hope or even a bit of excitement.

So under Sir Keir, those genuinely hard working successful people with ' broad shoulders' will pay more to finance his out of control spending plans.
Increases in income tax and capital gains tax coming your way soon under his leadership as he courts popularity with the have nots and the damn lazy and lay abouts in our society.

Words mean nothing at any conference.
If we lived in a perfect world then their idealism would be wonderful.
Given that I don't trust any politician to spend my money wisely, I trust the left even less than what is in situ now and that's saying something!

Think you mean Boris, he"s increasing income tax and national insurance, and done it already, what sir Keir might do in the event of him ever getting in, which is slim, is just Hans Christian Anderson! Concentrate on the Boris tax rises that are happening- not with whataboutery.
