some have maybe been in a rush, not eaten.
some have been on the bevvy & need to soak it up a bit.
when i used to go regular, if id been on the beer beforehand, id need to eat, before I got on the beer again after.
As another chap has said, given our yank connection, im suprised weve not upped our beverage & food game?

So either close down the food stalls or if you’re gonna have them then serve food and give good service not cardboard from an amateur like we get now.

I don't see the need to have crap food and over priced beer at the ground. If you have to snack take some power bars or snacks.

More difficult maybe with kids.

Our choice to go to Doneagles pre match and you can probably go the rest of the day without eating again

Alternative go to Sainsburys and get something to eat at half time if you have to.

I've never understood people who go to the cinema and buy huge buckets of popcorn and cr0p hot dogs

Agree, get a proper professional franchise in or don't do anything.

Back in the day there were loads of Burger vans outside the ground until Simon Jordan realised they were unlicensed they were gone a week later which meant you had to eat the slop that Palace offer.

Maybe the missing burger van didn't have a licence from Croydon council?

Like other on here I don't understand why football grounds cannot sell decent food and have enough staff to do it. It's not just Palace I have been to many a ground and seen the queues and not bothered.

If it was decent and easy to buy I think it would more than pay for the extra staff.

I would suspect the match day " catering " is all outsourced and the people working are not employees of CPFC and to be fair they can't influence the rubbish they are asked to sell.

Would not be worthwhile to do the admin for a few people who work a couple of times a month

You clearly haven’t been to a game for a long time. For starters no beers allowed in the seats. As for the peanuts in shells from a vendor? Maybe USA. But never here.

Never say never matey. Peanuts in their shells from vendors wandering round the terraces were the snack of choice in the 50s and 60s. I'm sure there are plenty on here who remember.

I rarely go to games now, last time was in 2019 against Man City. Age and health are factors, but I do realise there is a drinks ban nowadays unlike the rugby crowd.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

If you stood at the top half of the old holmesdale bank they were obligatory in wet weather - you dropped the broken shells onto the mud to stop yourself sliding down the bank during the second half......

Yes and you can definitely add 70's to that too.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).
