A stopped clock etc etc.

There does seem to be a fundamental misunderstanding of how businesses work with some on here though. Even though companies on the surface and to the layman make huge profits it’s usually due to volume rather than profit margin. Amazon for example take a tiny cut of every transaction; there’s just millions of them.

Larger businesses have cash reserves, market share, and brand domination to cope with shocks to the market such as an increase in the minimum wage. Smaller businesses are far more like a hand to mouth household and a sudden increase in costs can be the difference between being sustainable or not.

So, higher wages?

Yes! Ideally! Across the board! But that’s not how it works is it because you have no idea how businesses operate do you .

Another post to laugh at. You have all the complaints and the comments but have no courage or conviction to see anything through. There should be a party called The Ex Students Objection Party so everyone knows the score.

Can you explain the changes then and I will have an idea. Educating other people is a gift we all have and sharing is a lovely gesture, ideally without patronising the other person!

Yes please danh. I beleive it affected how contract staff are paid. Since April I think. Maybe this could be why eu citizens went home. They couldn't earn as much after tax. This could also be a reason for labour shortages could it not?

Remainers seem to want to focus upon Brexit yet we have just gone through multiple lockdowns,.....probably most of whom were supporters of which....like I said it would, has crippled the economy (even no lockdown would have because of fear mongering) where we are now risking rising prices and falling growth, not seen since the seventies. This isn't quickly fixable like some appear to think...we have trebled our debt in the last ten years.

Yet so many can't get out of their Brexit bubble.....Well, I'll tell the EU lovers something....delivery drivers are temporary and fixable just like all the supply chain....having a fecked economy is longer term.

It affected how non-payroll staff are paid. The rules weren't new, just actually being enforced. It obliges businesses to undertake a proper assessment on whether staff are actually self-employed or not.

It won't be a reason why EU citizens went home. There's different rules for frontier workers anyway which typically result in them paying tax and social security in their home country.
