and not a lucky goal. It was a belter.

Commentator saying Andros has scored 5 in 9 games (i think).

Compared to only one goal all season, for us.

Roy seems to have not got the best out of Andros. Andros is quality. We should have kept the fecker.

the 'Net-We-had' at the Etihad....again

Good goal, but you just know he would have missed that for us, a la Newcastle last season.
He is playing well, could probably fit into a Viera team but too expensive.
Pleased fir him

How well did Demarai Gray do for the goal! £1.7m could be bargain of the season

I am in the camp that Roy did a great job for us, but Townsend's showings do speak to one thing he was criticised for: a lack of adventure

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Different player. Wasted 4 years at Palace as he was asked to play out of position too many times.
We have players in that position that have scored once in 50 games!
Now an attacking winger and looking like the player he was when he played for England.
Such a shame we didn't get the best out of a very good player.
He was quality through and through.
Hope with the new recruits this season, we play to their strengths.
Carry on the good work Andros. You're in a team that appreciates you!
Just seen, he has scored an equalizer at Old Trafford!!!

5 goals and 3 assists in 9 games, good luck to him, wish we could have kept him.

He wasn't picked for absolutely ages and always had the job of tracking back which he did magnificently but still always had the energy to attack and attempt to cross the ball ..he was by far our best player on so many occasions yet most on here slated him left right and centre, shows exactly how effective he could've been if we'd been able to keep him with our current set up.

Is everyone saying Pochettino is a bad manager because he couldn't get the best out of Townsend so sold him to Newcastle (who were relegated during Townsend's 6 months there)? Townsend played on the right for us and he is playing on the right for Everton. Did Andros play in any other position for us?

I am pleased Andros has found new enthusiasm for football and we can look back at that fabulous goal he scored against City and the successful time we had while he played for us and then move on.

I wonder what Roy thinks when seeing how well he's done since they parted ways.

He would have been a better player for us this season under PV and certainly a better fit than Ayew - in my opinion.
He wanted too much money that we were not prepared to pay so he left - shame, but such is life in the Premier League.
Rafa loves him and he loves to be loved.

There are two things;

He's playing for a better team which in turn means he will be able to play with more attacking freedom.

A change of scenery / club often brings out improvement through a new challenge.

I am a fan and wouldn't have let him go particularly after deciding to re-sign Benteke but he was very inconsistent. His performance away to Burnley and open goal miss at Newcastle had nothing to do with Roy's tactics.

Is this going to be the new Dwight Gayle/ Glen Murray thread ?
