Agreed, I also think that as disappointed we are with Ayew attack wise, he’s nigling defensive work goes unmentioned. Not sure Olise is up to supporting Ward yet but a great sub to bring on and he’s time will come :-)

This.

Really excited to see this guy come on and be so direct. But lets remember that he came on when we were dominating and pushing.

I know Ayew isnt flavour of the month, (and Olise scoring isnt going to help) but he is an experience player and was instrumental in the pressing play yesterday.

If Olise is as good as his performance yesterday suggests then this takes the pressure off having to rush Eze back too soon. Olise can find his feet with Eze gradually being eased back in from the bench. I also hadn't realised what a physical presence Olise is at 6' 1". It's really hard not to get carried away when you consider we now have Zaha, Edouard, Eze, Olise and Gallagher as options. With regard to Rak-Sakyi I wonder if in January it'd be better to get him a loan to the Championship so he can get regular competitive game time, as I think he's a long way down the pecking order at the moment. The same for Banks.

Rubbish, there is no place for Ayew in this team, the only position he can play is CF or secondary Striker and he isn't good enough for either, appalling record 21 games, no goals, no assists.

Do you not get bored digging the guy out at every opportunity?

I think that with the U18's top of their league & the U23's having been promoted last season to the top division Rak-Sakyi is bouncing between the 2 squads, same as Scott Banks. The thinking here may be, let them play in these leagues as they are up against the best equivilent players & it would be better for their development than loaning them out as was the norm seasons gone past.

Just my take on it.

TBF I suspect PV may have a little bit more knowledge about this than you. Personally I do not think he is a PL player but he is doing a job for us, in a position, where we need someone to help Ward. At this time Olise is not that player

I agree. Also if we do suddenly have an injury crisis ( anyone else noticed the difference this season?) it will be easier to move them up rather than end a loan

Yes was thinking about that only this morning. Early days but perhaps the new coaching team are better at managing players' workloads, training routines etc. etc. despite the increased demands being made on the players. Something of a conundrum.

Reminded me of when Mark Bright made his Palace debut.

Olise made the rest of the team look like headless chickens

Aa promising as he is, I don't see Rak-Sakyi getting much game time this season unless Olise gets injured. There simply isn't room in the team for Olise, Eze and R-S. In order to play Eze as well as Olise, Vieira will have to drop one of Gallagher or McArthur, or move Gallagher to a DM role and drop Luka.

From what you’re saying I’m hearing competition for Wilf which is really good. Just shows how Dougie and now Vieira have found some superb gems who are transforming us. Palace are headed for the stars.

Really? He did very well but that is a strange observation

That’s all I can liken it to.

Even though he has come from a lower level unlike Bright - he just had something different. Learnt the right lessons but is selfless. Doesn’t try to do it all himself and knows when to let go of the ball
