There is the odd rumour floating about that the Special Reconnaissance regiment was involved in the intelligence gathering on De Menzies, for a lot of people this is probably the first time they have ever heard of the SRR.
Chances are they were forensically going through his home whilst he was sleeping days before he was shot.
f*** knows how it ended up such a cluster f***.

Fcuk knows how indeed! I had him in my taxi a couple of weeks before, he had been working late and fallen asleep on the bus, took him back to Stockwell station from clapham junction, nice bloke. Strange thing was, I could have just taken him to his home in brixton for the same cost, it was about 10.30pm, tragic none the less! Even if Cressie dick wasn"t to be fired for the cock up, in no way should she have been promoted-in my opinion.

Yep, plus the irony in her name.

Shame on her

Why can't c-units in these top jobs be held accountable ?

And i bet if she was got-rid, she'd be on a fine severance and pension package. Reward for failure, and all that.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Suspect it’s the same in most organisations Spider. One of the problems I had at work was people coming coming into senior positions who only intended staying until a better opportunity came along - they almost all wanted to change things, seemingly to get a point for their CVs. The changes implemented usually meant going back to the way things were done a few years previously which staff pointed out hadn’t worked. The person responsible would leave and the new Director/ HoD would pretend the working practices were our choice and set about changing them back to another unsuccessful earlier method. There were also endless change management consultants around who were only interested in how things could, rather than did, work; usually after a few redundancies.

Are you sure you never worked for the HO this describes the perfectly

Allegedly only “came out” in April 2017, the same month she took her present job

There are millions of necessary interactions and always a percentage chance that bad outcomes from mistakes will result.

I want her removed because she's part of the Khan failure of London governance and a supporter and enactor of his policies. And again, I'll state that this women was given her post by a conservative home secretary.

All of this really. There are plenty of reasons to loathe the woman but this particular murder was simply unpredictable.

With regard to the first sentence, may I stress it is correct but only in the Senior Grades. The Public Sector is not well run but the lower grades, who can see this and have to implement some ridiculous decisions, unfortunately, do not have a voice. Please do not lump all Public Sector workers together

Edited by Spiderman (03 Oct 2021 9.01am)

It may not be fair to lump them together but the civil servants - big or small - local or Whitehall - are currently doing bugger all and constantly live by a different set of rules to the private sector.
Not to be admired.

Very far from unpredictable. He drove through a McDonalds naked from the waist down and had carried out other sexual offences. He should have been sacked from the police. Cressida Dick is responsible as the head of the MET for its culture and incompetence. It is difficult to know how useless at her job she has to be before she is sacked or resigns.

The Police Federation is the most powerful and extreme Trade Union (forget that it's supposed to be a Staff Association) I have ever faced.

Its power is rampant and results in those who should be performance managed or disciplined getting away, sometimes literally, with murder. No single Commissioner can resolve that.

Cressida Dick does not think the head of an organisation has responsibility and accountability.

Totally non uniform Civil Service mentality.

Shameful and her support from Khan and Patel is inexplicable.

Perhaps it's because she can bring them both down if she fancies going on a Cummings style rant.

The Mets budget is £3bn per year. The head of that organisation gets paid £240k a year. Bizzarly, she asked to get paid £40k less than her predecessor.

To me, it doesn't seem like an adequate compensation package for someone in charge of a budget that size.

If you want decent talent in the top positions, you'll have to pay them a rate commensurate with equivalent positions in industry. I'd expect that to be multiple millions.

As it's known I'm no fan of Dick......there it is, I think someone had to say it. I'm also no fan of the modern Police force and its politicization, priorities and behaviour these last years.

But in seriousness I think a certain realism has to be applied with the police, similar to the army.

These are professions that have to deal with the rough end of life. Yet people who are paid far more and never get their hands dirty and avoid danger like the plague think that everything's just cut and dried.....and most of them wouldn't let their children anywhere near the professions either.

They apparently think that it's easy to be in highly emotive and scary situations and always respond intelligently, appropriately and calmly. In reality that's not just anybody and the Police force and especially Army aren't paid high wages.

I'm obviously not saying that they shouldn't be censored and that action needs to be taken when appropriate. I just write this for some understanding to be applied to how difficult those jobs actually are when things get real.
