are there streets in England where the language is not English, many housewives arrived into the UK aged 18 for arranged marriages and never bothered to learn English ?

And they do not have any interaction with the British public nor even British telly ? A big satellite dish and programmes from the home country beamed in to the living room.

Diverse ? its not diverse when the whole street speaks only one foreign language. That , my friend, is a ghetto.

And regarding getting jobs fixing bikes ? what is the rate of long-term unemployment & fertility in such ghettos ? or the rate of female participation in the workplace ?

Integrated & promoted ? yeah, sure.

So much to worry about, I wonder that you have the strength to leave the house. What with the xenoglossophobia (fear of foreign languages) and the xenophobia.

Multilingualism is something that is all too rare in Britain and it should be encouraged. It’s been shown that knowing more than one language is beneficial to all cognitive processes. In the part of the United Kingdom where I come from it is day to day rare to hear English spoken.

Not interacting with British ‘telly’ might be a real positive. After all, I have heard that it is all run by left-wing or right-wing ideologues (they swop over on Wednesdays).

Regarding bike servicing, there is a lot of demand as lots of people have taken up cycling during the pandemic.

London’s biggest bike shop chain FW Evans was a good company with lots of skilled mechanics until it was acquired by Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct group and turned into something entirely useless.

It's kind of hard to be xenophobic when you live aboard.

Mind you I paradoxically managed it whenever I went on holiday.

I am pretty sure that he's a character that someone is developing for a novel. I believe that Baudelaire said that literature should have two fundamental qualities: supernaturalism and irony.

On the contrary, I have met many people that live in countries where they profess to dislike and fear the local population.

Sure, as my second sentence implied it's not a hard and fast rule.

once an Eagle, always an Eagle. Half of HOL is living far from SE25.

but do not worry, my note about a ghetto that all speaks ONE foreign language ? these can also be discovered in France, Italy, Germany, the US and other places.

Of course the relevant languages will change from place to place : Spanish in the US, Turkish in Germany, Arab language varieties in France, and English in Marbella.

In all cases we are discussing a failure to assimilate and integrate with the Greater Host nation.

Diversity & multiculturalism should not allow mono-cultural ghettos. Remember the 7/7 attacks in London ? what motivated those boys to hate Londoners so much ?
