Pass the milkshake

Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.

Bojo sends a team of weapons inspectors into Afghanistan to find Weapons of mass destruction.

when they dig into an underground silo , hey presto, they find a few dozen more lost offspring of Bojo ?

do the 'RA want a 32 county ireland, irish-speaking. And with no concessions given to Ulster Prods regarding their rights. And has the 100 years of the Republic been characterised by corruption & failures in public life ?

have they not learned anything after 400 years of trouble ?

Do Ulster Prods still harken after the Apartheid State they owned in 1968 ? those halcyon days of domination of the ballot box. And the ability to look down your nose at your neighbours on the next street ?

like two bald men fighting over a comb.

Nigel Farage never seems like the cleverest in any room. However, why is it that this same issue turns up again and again in Ireland? Is there some reason British people are supposed to know the whole of Irish history? Are the entire country to do a collective exam on this?
I guess we could test the French on Spanish history, or the Americans on Canadian history? If they get it wrong then clearly should be lampooned?
The core question here is why the issue? I have several ideas about the answer. Genuinely, why do Irish people care if some 'Brit' doesn't know when the Act of Union was or something?
It's pure political gaming, one upmanship and propaganda, deliberately designed as part of the wider attempt to make Brexit look like the worst thing that has happened since The Holocaust. Handily enough, it deflects the attention away from the very real crises and problems faced by Irish people currently. All the media is state owned or part funded by the state. I may as well watch the Chinese news. For two years it consisted of nothing other than Covid figures or government advice. Now, there is sometimes a debate about easing restrictions, that's about as radical as it gets.
In the meantime the government built a net zero of no social houses at all, from a target of 10,000. The reason for continuing restrictions, the dire straits of the Health Service. Make you're own mind up if Irish people give a shyte about Nigel Farage. Look up the article in something like the Journal (completely Liberal media) and see the comments. Not even 50% of the people are fooled, far from it, and they hate Nigel with a passion.
