It’s an excellent banner. Congratulations to the HF. Absolutely superb. NUFC should be totally ashamed, I hope they get relegated.

The fact it’s on BBC means it will get 100x the coverage.

I think when people are being killed then I think fans and members of the public have the right to express freedom of speech. Players are employed to play football only. There is clearly something wrong if owners of a football club commit atrocities on people. This is quite different to George Floyd or abuse on Twitter. It should’ve happened when Qatar were awarded the World Cup, but buying a football club with deep rooted history deserves the spotlight.

Hear, hear!! 100% agreed.
Fit & Proper my ar*e!!
This mob also got caught red handed showing Premier League games without the paid rights to, all but 1 year ago, now they own a club. Unbelievable

Apparently Croydon Police received complaint about a racist banner. Not racist in my view. I suspect complaint was made by Staveley or her husband, he was seen taking a photo of it.
PL will probably be fuming and we will get not favours from them

The Truth hurts, great banner, not racist, free speech

Yes but as far as I'm aware t's only been on the BBC since the "police to investigate" story broke. No mention of it at all last night before I went to bed at about 10.30pm. I assumed they didn't want to upset Alan Shearer's BBC-sponsored w***-fest (BBC "News" yesterday morning had a story about Shearer handing Arnold Schwarzenegger a NUFC shirt FFS!). But I didn't watch MoTD, so maybe I'm wrong and it WAS mentioned.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

I've thought long and hard about this overnight and I would like to think that if this had happened at Palace our fan base would have protested against the take over and boycotted the games.

Maybe I'm wrong but I think our fans would have kicked off big time.

Although it is true what the banner says one issue I have with it is tribalism. If Palace were taken over by a Saudi billionaire the majority of Palace fans would be like any other football fan accept it because it would ensure Palace become a European side within the next 3 to 5 years. Top 10 is a dream and that looks unlikely this season. It is hypocritical to have a banner when if the opposite happened most Palace fans like any other football fan base would welcome it cause most fans care more about success than their owners.

Plus if the PL did not accept it would have been hypocritical. You have Man City owned by a state effectively. Chelsea owned by a Russian owner. If you say no to Newcastle there is a double standards. There has also been allegations of corruption against the Chelsea owner, Man City and nearly every rich owner. Most rich owners have allegations of corruption against them many of them are true Newcastle are no different. Money has taken over football a long time ago. Most owners see clubs as businesses. Abramovich didn't take over Chelsea cause of the location of course it was due to profitability. Same with City, PSG and any other football club.

No dosh no glory
I was watching the TV from the arthur yesterday at half time and remembered the great away days when the HT scores from div 1 and 2 came up. I don't necessarily want them back by choice but if they did I think I would still go to watch us. The halcyon days when money wasn't god. A tenuous link

If a tyranical, Murdering, Terrorist became our owner i would be a Palace Supporter no more, and that is a hard thing to do,

What you do is protest, protest and protest and protest what you most definitely do not do is wear any clothing that has anything to do with that takeover, it is beyond disgust that their fans are happy to wave those flags and it would be beyond disgust if the police mention anything to us in regard to a banner which highlights nothing but the truth.

I don’t believe this would be the case with Palace. I think most Palace fans take pride in us being a small community club who are punching above our weight. Many, including myself, would turn their back on the club if this type of blood stained investment happened. Having a club to be proud of is more important than winning.

Newcastle fans are in the same bracket as West Ham and Liverpool who seem to think they are entitled to success. No thanks.

It was mentioned by 'Jug-Ears' albeit grudgingly, but, as mentioned, only because the plod were investigating. Here is the bbc report on it . . . [Link]

If the fanatics do receive any abuse from the police then perhaps a banner needs to be directed at them themselves highlighting their issues in regard to some of their behaviour.
