Yeah, all about the money, I was on a building site years back, went up the stairway to floor 5 and there was no lighting, but bricks scattered and rubble and two open lift shafts, waiting for a victim to drop 5 floors! I went and told the site forman, politely, that its an accident-and death- waiting to happen, 15 mins later my charge hand came over to me and told me I was fired! Thats what you get with no representation these days-even those days! I did call the HSE on leaving and was pleased to hear the whole site was shut down the next day for a couple of days, hope the useless cnut got it in the neck from the chairman, it was a big job and time is money, especially if you don"t finish on time!

That's terrible. Though all too often being the better person and considerate of others costs you. It takes a strong character to retain those qualities when thankless of unjust stuff like this happens, but from hat I can tell here you've done so, so fair play.

Blimey. I know people roll their eyes at 'health and safety' regulations (rightly so in some cases), but this goes to show the other side of the coin really; of how some just don't give a toss and will get away with endangering others at the drop of a hat if they think they can get away with it.

im 61, have worked in buildin trade since early 80s / more or less 40 years.
ive probably got a very good book within me(if somebody ghosted it for me !)
Ive known a small guy to be held over a flat roof by 2 big guys, 6 floors up to get to a bit of facia / had a whole scaffold lifted on me while im painting, by a fork lift while the ground workers pissed themselves laughing(nearly collapsed)
went partially through a poorly boarded scaffold and still have a moody knee/ builders had ladders too short so removed sections of other ladders and tied them together to make up the height / heavy drinking on sites (roof)/ a plasterers arm taken off when a dumb waiter in lift shaft was meant to be secured and fell, taking his arm off..
i could go on for literally hours.
loads of near misses too.

Thats right blue, you always hear about the silly health and safety stories in the sun, but they do have an important role in saving workers lives, those builders would have bodies every job without them, its all about the pound note after all!The government arent to bothered because the same big building companies grease the gov wheels with donations to the CONservative party!

The Buck stops with Baldwin, It was his film & financed by his company.

Was more a general point about health and safety.

Specific to this case I both feel sorry for him, and those he shot, and yet also clearly there may be legal repercussions for him or those in charge of the weapons. I have no real inclination either way to centre solely on him to absolve or blame, because that up at personal politics rather than caring about peoples lives. They are very often two different things.

It's a very sad story, appears to be multiple breaches of safety protocols and good practice.

Lawyers will be having a field day, those with most money will be less likely to be criminally convicted and then even less likely to do jail time.

Compensation will be flying about to make it all go away.

New Mexico is a very blue state so the I would think the chance of a very publicly pro democrat Hollywood celeb being treated the same as a nobody is extremely remote.

Still a terrible thing and I am sure Baldwin and the others involved feel terrible, but feeling terrible is not relevant under the law

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I don't think the ministers actually make the rules.
It's the HSE who are independent and have saved 1000s of lives since its inception. You could argue every single business who make a mistake are financing hmg and its their fault!
I really think you should let it go now; it's goner ruin your mental health.

He was the person that pulled the trigger and running the film, but there may be loads of stuff that doesn't come out in an 'investigation'. Likewise, there may be a convenient scape-goat where everyone shirks responsibility,

Budget constraints
Nepotism
In-experienced people in positions of authority
safety complacency

You can bet Baldwin is already compiling a screenplay of events which culminate in those in authority swerve the blame, and some hapless 22yr old gets a large dose of real life.
