Unusually Starmer is shouting corruption (so he is still there). Labour will not attend the rigged tory committee to give it credibility, it is a kangaroo court. Corruption has really become the norm in the UK it is sad but the John Major sleaze which resulted in his downfall would not do so now. Labour is now the party of low taxation and businesses disenchanted with the tories, there is plenty of pain to come withy no benefits for the voters, apart from the rich. Watching for interest rate hikes could be double-digit this time next year.

A sensible compromise that would reward our representatives fairly but make it clear that there's no excuse for abusing that position. With how much some politicians no doubt make on the side through dubious means though, it'd likely be a case of 'I can't go for that' (as Hall & Oats might say!). We often put up with this when its our favoured party in power and so inevitably shoot ourselves in the foot as the political tide turns. We get the governments we deserve.

The new romantics were fun in the eighties but let's just say that when I go for my full English in the cafe tomorrow I'd rather not be served by a bloke with lipstick.....in the same way that I don't really want a male nurse or female priest. I love this Excellent precedent If I ever fall foul of regulations I shall simply point out they aren’t perfect. And insist they hold no authority until they are. This will make it so much easier to stay on the right side of the law.

You wonder who set up the process in the first place? Idiots? In the House of Lords you can appeal the decision. I suspect that any company that does not have a work place appeal process will lose at an employment tribunal. So why on earth did the HOC think this was a good process to strat with.
