I'm not sure he's ever going to come good.

Well, you do wonder don't you? I can't wait to see if there's substance behind the hype that surrounds him.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Allegedly we offered 4m as he was injured.
Wba refused due to bosman and took us to the tribunal on a recommendation by their legal team and here we are.
Greed bit them to the tune of 3m.
Feck em I say

Yup. Tribunal did a "Bostock" on 'em.

I wonder if his rehab will pick up a bit of pace now that the tribunal have sat and the fee been decided.

I am not sure if anyone has noticed (and I accept we have not yet hit full injury season) but we are not riding high in the injuries table as we have done since we came up.

Perhaps there has finally been the long-needed reform to our physio/rehab team. I am convinced that, for years, this has consisted of little more than a druid, a wet sponge and a bloke who supplies the leaches.

As for Ferguson, I seem to recall he was England U21 squad and got a few caps. Even without the LONG injury, there is no guarantee that this trajectory would have continued; but there has to be something in his mind and body that we can resurrect. And we may now have the coaching staff to do that... just so long as he doesn't go all Wickham on us.

I'm sure I have seen it mentioned on here somewhere recently silvertop. But, you're quite right, nowhere near the number of injuries we had last season. Roy's pressers invariably started off with a long list of injury updates.

Let's hope things have changed on the training ground allied with the super new facilities. Fingers crossed eh?

Obviously I'm hoping it's not the case, but is there a possibility that the low fee is because those deciding it consider that Fergusons injury issues are unlikely to see him get to the level of fitness he needs to be at ?

I suspect that the lower number of injuries might have something to do with lowering the average of the squad too.

This must be the longest run in quite some time of having a consistent back 4.

I reckon so, yes.

If you consider the players we let go:
Wayne Hennessey, Stephen Henderson, Gary Cahill, Mahamadou Sakho, Scott Dann, Patrick Van Aanholt, James McCarthy, Andros Townsend and Conor Wickham
you will realize they are exactly those that were always injured or kept getting injured week in week out.
I guess the answer is much easier than magic reforms of phisios...

Do you reckon SP will stagger payment, say, over 5 years @ £180,000 a year?

It comes down to mental strength as to the level he reaches. I have a feeling he's very strong mentally, but only time will tell.
