I gather that Chris Winter's new book is due out shortly. For those who don't know, Chris has previously published two books: "A Biased Commentary 1969-90" and "More Biased Commentary 1990-2011". The new book will include all that material, and bring us up to date with coverage of the last ten years.

I have read and re-read the earlier books, which not only revive memories of long-forgotten names and incidents, but also give an entertaining personal view on each season. I've already pre-ordered the new book.

Chris didn't ask me to post this but he knows I'm doing it. Profits from the book will go to St. Christopher's Hospice. Chris also, by the way, does live commentary of home games for blind and partially sighted people in the ground.

Brilliant read especially historically ; how did we go from averaging 29,000 to 5,000 in the space of a few seasons!

I'm ordering my copy today. It'll be a surprise Christmas present for me!

Your post sold it to me JRW2, not just because of the book's content, but because of the profits going to St Christopher's. My Father-in-Law was looked after there in his last days and he received the most gentle, kind and expert care which helped us all cope with his illness.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

I've just received this wonderful book as a 'surprise' birthday gift. Having scanned it quickly before a planned, detailed read later, I must say it looks like a well written (biased obviously) and professionaly produced volume.

With proceeds going to St Christopher's Hospice it's a must for every Palace fan's Christmas list. Well done to Chris Winter for all the good work he does.

This is a brilliant read - it's a wander down memory lane reminding me of the highs and lows of previous seasons since I started to follow the Palace in 1976 in the old 3rd division. Good for newer fans to get a feel of how the club has developed over the years too. Also a reminder of some of the players good bad and indifferent we've enjoyed/suffered/forgotten. Essential reading
