They even do it in this article, splashing a headline, but burying the truth deep in the text. The guy they accuse made a slip of the tongue and apologised. In the light of a recent warning about personal abuse, I really do think that your constant insinuations are so frequent that they should constitute a breach of Rule 7, but I don't enforce the rules. I don't care what you call me, but you are causing threads to become personal battlegrounds. I am up for that, but I have no desire to be carded or banned. That would be idiotic. In my opinion, it was a gross mistake and those promoting it did so for reasons I totally disagree with, but, whilst some were undoubtably racist in nature, not all, or even most were. Many were just mistaken or misled. I'll leave it to the moderators to determine breaches of the rules, as I have always done, and have recently argued for. I am though very pleased to see a warning being given and that it is already having an impact. I do though completely disagree with any assessment that I am the cause of threads to become battlegrounds. I post opinions which have no need to be responded to. That choice is for others to make, as you rightly point out. That one strand of political thought appears to dominate here does not mean that others don't have an equal right to be expressed. The right of free speech applies to everyone, not just to some. If someone feels frustrated that their own opinion is being challenged, and responds in a personal way, then that is also their responsibility, and a potential breach of the rules. Nonsense, if any exists, can be ignored just as much as anything else. It is though always better to counter anything regarded as nonsense with cogent reasoning. Which is what I try to do.
