Anyone seen this? I’ve only seen the first part but for anyone with any interest in the Beatles it’s well worth a look.
Their creativity is quite incredible - in a month they came up with all of Let it Be and half of Abbey Road, albeit by using some stuff they’d written years before, as well as a few songs which appeared on later solo albums. Of course it’s similar to Let it Be but they’re getting on together better.

I want to see it heard some good things about it but I think it's on Disney which I don't have.

The Let It Be film is about the breakup of the band which is understandable as when the film was released it was a huge story so the obvious one to tell. From the interviews I have read though Peter Jackson says they actually got on better than people think until they didn't so that was the story he wanted to tell.

You mentioned creativity I think between the bands first and last album it was about 8 years and it seems incredible the number of songs they wrote and recorded in that time.

Today most artists will probably do 1 album every 2 years.

And the ones George wrote which didn’t get used.
It’s interesting watching them coming up with songs which are now so well known like Paul lah lahing the lyrics to Let it Be.
There’s a YouTube clip, might be in this doc at some stage, of George coming in with the outline of Something and saying he hadn’t got the lyrics after Something in the way she moves and John saying - It doesn’t matter. Just sing anything. Something in the way she moves attracts me like a cauliflower That’ll do until you get it right.

McCartney use to sing "Scrambled Eggs how I love to eat those scrambled eggs" to the tune of Yesterday. Quite a clever idea until you nail down the lyrics.

Whereas Adele has done 2 albums in 6 years. Although that's 2 too many IMO.

It's weird to think that Beatlemania was where it all began considering that humans have always listened to music in one form or another. And also that due to todays fragmented musical landscape we'll now likely never again have a band that reaches such singular heights.

It’s pretty much inconceivable that anyone could reach their level again, partly due to the diffuse ways people hear music now but also because of their talent and the contributions of George Martin and Geoff Emerick.

You should be a writer. I mean it. Lovely turns of phrase. I'll even forgive the missing apostrophe

Don't forget that back in the day Frank Sinatra has his Bobby Soxers fans who screamed the place down and of course Elvis at his peak had his legions of fans.

The Beatles were fortunate that their moment arrived as TV was at it's viewing peak with only a few channels here and in the US. That and the fact that they were able to tour the US. Credit to Brian Epstein he fanned the flames and took advantage of the mania as any good manager would.

They were of their time but they also created "that time".
