I wasn't talking about sending Trump or Clinton to jail, as far as I know there are no formal criminal filings against either for anything relating to Epstein anyway. I'm talking judgements we make against people in the general sense... I'm sure you've already made judgements against Epstein himself? I know I've made my judgement about Prince Andrew... So do you feel differently about Clinton's involvement with Epstein than you do Trump?

Also I think you bar for culpability in all this is high, surely even if individuals didn't engage directly in inappropriate acts of criminality with trafficked people, you would still want to see justice to people that aided and abetted Epstein, including turning a blind eye.

Mmmmm....context matters because when we talk about 'turning a blind eye' you are getting to the stage when you require a level of certainty that someone knew something specific was happening.

When it gets into the 'he said, she said' stuff I get twitchy..... what you need is actual beef....person, time, location, event stuff that moves beyond contentions.

Like I say, if people have been sexually abusing the underage and trafficked on islands then this is beyond politics for me. I seriously don't care if it's my political tribe or not, this is completely off the cards.

With Prince Andrew it looks dodgey and we have proof of time person and location.....but he's untouchable and we are kidding ourselves that anything will happen.

But for me, Trump, Clinton, Andrew...if they did it, I don't care who they are, this kind of sh1t needs taking down.

Like it's been said, I think it's probably well known what went on there as it was all apparently documented....perhaps those people are now controlled by the services holding that information......which should be in this court, but isn't, because...reasons.

Interestingly, Twitter are ruthlessly burning accounts that are reporting the trial. Big tech has much to hide, perhaps.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Power doesn't like the backstage curtain moved....it wants people's eyes fixed firmly on the stage.

It's creepy and fascinating but there will be so much that we will never know. It certainly seems implied that many rich and powerful individuals were recorded in compromising situations (to put it mildly) and that intelligence agencies (likely US and Israel) propped up Epstein or turned a blind eye due to the leverage this gave them. So in all likelihood said agencies were fueling this depravity.

I read the thought the other day that it's not always a mistake that people allow themselves to be compromised, and may instead often be a 'tool' to allow yourself to rise to the top, helped by those who know that you can be controlled like a pawn as you ascend. A kind of fasustian bargain. No doubt a little conspiratorial but I bet there's often some truth to the process, as I doubt powerful individuals or governments want principled individuals getting in their way.

Epstein likely held a lot of sway due to his role in this, and legally was treated in such a way for the longest time. Perhaps he became too much of a liability. I expect he feared for his life on the outside, and certainly wasn't safe inside either. Maxwells trial looks very minimal in what its covering. Just enough to make it all go away no doubt and create a false narrative that justice has been done.

Prosecution have finished presenting the case, still can't see anything, even minimal.

It's all so well contained. They've literally said almost nothing about what actually happened, and the dirt they have on this pair, blotting out the bulk of the story in exchange for a throwing their willing puppets (Maxwell and Epstein) into the furnace. What of the several big players that were clearly ensnared in this, what of the labelled video footage they recovered. What of Epstein being given several million by individuals he likely had a hold over. We'll likely never know because as a strategy it's too useful, and too incriminating of government rather than individuals. They used children as bait.

I'd say that's a reasonable line of thought.

"They touched my leg, when I was 16."

Nothing was ever going to come of this 'trial', except to go through the motions.

What's worse is that I expect the vacancy has now been filled and that there are other Epstein's out there carrying out the exact same role!

Quite.

Though some might say that next you'll be saying 'they are turning the frogs gay'.

[Link]

Still, I agree and this was probably happening before Epstein as it will after him.

The scary thing is that this whole Epstein situation has been damped down and the media have kept away from investigating and digging.

That tells you all you really need to know.....real power.

Haha. Funnily enough I actually was thinking I was sounding a bit 'Alex Jones' as I typed those posts, but then as off kilter and OTT he is at times, but nature that he's into every conspiracy going he's sometimes on the money. It's a shame he went in with the Sandy Hook stuff.

True regarding the media blackout on anything related to the trial that doesn't tow a very limited version of events. The biggest twitter account following the trial was shut down the other day too. More of the real story will probably emerge in about 40 years when nobody involved is even around anymore.

Yep Sandy Hook was bad and he's rightly paid for that. Alex Jones is part business and entertainer, part front line culture war...both of those aspects don't lend themselves to reliability.
He's a bit like the football octopus that they bring out every world cup....though to be fair to him there weren't many out there pointing out that island.

The real power sits behind the throne rather than on it....It's not the Emperor but the Shogun...except today's Shogun is economic rather than military.

In 40 years time will the freedom to know what happened now actually exist? Let's hope they get that....We know that today restrictions on what the actual truth was can be still protected from public eyes.... from even further back than that.
