Joe Rodon is likely to be available.

Might be someone we should look at even if only on loan?

Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.

I would like to see someone to replace Wilf actually - a Grealish/Bolasie type IYKWIM. And see Wilf more as a middle forward as he appears to be regularly failing to progress the ball in midfield/wings. In other positions: who replaces Mitchell when injured? Clyne/Ferguson? Our last 3 losses showed our weakness when JM's position is not filled. Hughes looks great but I would look for spare: even a Shelvey. Milo sadly looks too slow.

Hopefully dump some of our spare wood.

Keeper/s. I just think we need to bring in a young keeper with potential. The lad at Moan U who can’t get in the side on loan or make a stupid offer to buy him would be good.

I would like us to try offload Wilf, Benteke and Luka and buy a new left winger and Centre Forward and loan a defensive midfielder.
and run kelly, Clyne and Ayews contract down and get a new right back in the summer

10% of this and you should be happy!!

Didn't we do that in the summer?

We do need a squad of 25 not just a first 11

I think that if Benteke or Wilf go in Jan they will walk away for free in 18 months

Very unlikely.

Mateta is gone.

Perhaps the odd teenager.

Otherwise don't hold your breath. The wires are very quiet.

Sounds about right to me. We aren't in desperate straits so can afford to wait till the summer. In any case we have 6 or 7 contracts due to expire in the summer, so it will be a question of which of those get renewed.

Also given the fact that the football were playing has been (overall) very easy on the eye it takes the pressure off any negotiations that we may be quietly conducting, which in itself gives us a stronger bargaining position if we are looking to strengthen 1 or 2 positions.

Personally I like having Martin Kelly in the squad even if its just for insurance against a rear guard injury but I could quite understand it if he felt that he would be better suited elsewhere -

Now that sounds VERY painful!

The uncertainty around COVID-19 suggests to me Parish will keep his powder dry unless a real opportunity rears its head. Why invest in fees and wages for a player that might not kick a ball for months, or who might end up in quarantine for weeks if they're coming from abroad. Vieira still hasn't tapped into the U23s yet really, which we were led to believe would happen, so I think that's another reason why we won't spend much if anything.

Having said all that, it's been many a winter since I last thought it's not a big deal if we don't spend.
