Not quite the same, but it's amusing when people have misheard a phrase and repeat it incorrectly. TV comic Dave Gorman did a whole section on this on his Modern Life is Goodish show where he had trawled social media sites to find examples. Ones I particularly remember were "It's a doggy dog world' ( as opposed to dog eat dog; "Like ball in a china shop ( as opposed to bull); "escape goat" rather than scapegoat.
