In terms of separation, that requires separate power structures.

In island nations like Britain that's far less likely to emerge....it happens indirectly as in economic balkanization...house price separatism, which as we know comes with an avalanche of expedient social hypocrites.

While I'm obviously talking with no certainty I'm not so sure that a coming economic collapse brings social conservativism back in terms of the UK.....in fact it probably worsens the situation but whole books could be written on the different possible outcomes of a breakdown.

However in the US, even now we know the fifty states are increasingly polarised into two ideologies that speak very divergent political languages.

There the divide into different government is....in my opinion...only a matter of time. Perhaps an economic collapse far greater than 2008 brings that about...The world debt problems are certainly going to affect parts of the US differently and that's going to add to the discord.

In terms of social conservatism, well that will exist in the US for some time...however, that is also true for Eastern Europe and perhaps Russia. At the moment the only elites who are socially conservative are in Eastern Europe....but they are just as corrupt as the western ones....just not as interested in betraying their own people.

Things will certainly become clearer the later we get into the decade.

I never, ever, wanted Corbyn to be PM. I regarded him as a disaster for our country when the Labour Party committed suicide by choosing him as their leader. His weakness was, in my opinion, the primary reason that Brexit was allowed to happen. Without him our MPs would likely have stopped it. I know how unpopular that would have been with those who think a referendum result is sacrosanct, but for people like me, he is the enemy of democracy, and no hero.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

He has declared he is bankrupt but his creditors suspect that he may be hiding his assets. Well that wouldn't surprise me lots of people do some of whom I have Known and it is wrong and criminal.

What does concern me is that charity Hope Not Hate is funding an insolvency expert to investigate his finances. I do not consider that ethical use of charitable status.

He has other creditors including HMRC surely it is up to them to pursue any monies owed.

Hope Not Hate should focus on what their charitable work.
