Knife crime could be helped by returning to the successful policies of the Blair era when it was relatively unknown.

Then we had tough on crime and its causes but importantly the intelligence and monitoring of youths has all but ceased with the tories police cuts of the austerity years.

We had action to prevent gun crime 5 years for possession and gun crime is very rare.

We need action and tough legislation, not counting little rubber boats crossing the channel.

Education is a must, kids have to be shown the reality of prison life and the abuse they may suffer there.

A minimum of 5 years for carrying or possessing a knife would be a start, an instance of crime involving a knife a minimum of 10 years.

Ultimately there always be evil, its about limiting it in society.

I cant recall a single initiative on this crime from the tories since they were first elected, their attitude was to outsource any problem thus saving money and pushing the blame elsewhere.

I'd suggest that it is down to not being reported or not entered into the system. The actual experience of people seems to not tally with crime being down. Let's say burglary, is it taken seriously? Is it even investigated? Yet, I feel it's quite a major crime. So would anyone who has been burgled. We've reached the level of crime where half of it is not deemed serious enough to matter. Unless it's a racist shout at a football match, or hurty online comments, of course. It's not even funny.
It's even about the same where I live, if you can believe that. Several burglaries a day. No one particularly cares. Not a lot of stabbings though, the odd one, the usual suspects same as there.

Some of what you say is correct. Stop and search has been put in a quotas mode so as not to offend black people. This is fact even though most stabbings are black on black !!!
The 5 years time for carrying was never going to be realistic due to legal aid and lilly livered do gooders.
Education is the way but not flowering it up, maybe show a few pictures of guts hanging out and dead kids lying in the gutter in their own blood; alongside the reality of jail time.
Police cuts have had little bearing I feel, how many were used for destroying gangs and searching people?
Woke hasn't helped at all because everyone's kid is apparently a little darling and never in trouble; only on Friday and Saturday nights whilst they terrorise their 'manor'.
