With all the condemnation in these pages of "elites" expecting, and getting, preferential treatment it's refreshing when one doesn't. It was as "open" to him to get vaccinated as it is for everyone else. Best player, or not, he still is subject to the rules. His defence was trying to make the same kind of argument, that he was no threat etc etc when the real issue was simply whether the Minister had the legal authority to issue the order. Which he obviously did, so out he went. Quite right too! The answer to his problem is in his own hands. If he refuses then he bears the consequences. If any country decides every visitor to their shores must be vaccinated that's their decision. I hope both France and ourselves take the same line. No exemptions for elite athletes. Quite amusing to read that the biggest elite suck up on these boards suddenly has an issue with them. The difference being that elites in sport tend to be much less harmful and indeed people that we usually admire....certainly much more than the incredibly rich and powerful globalist elites and organsiations that he normally spends time covering for. I no more "suck up" to "elites" than I do to anyone else. What I don't do is seek to categorise everyone with inappropriate labels and invent excuses to blame for the ways our world is changing. Ways some just cannot accept so need to find culprits. Djokovic really has displayed characteristics of those with an "elite" mindset. Self-righteousness and a sense of entitlement. Now who has recently been in the headlines also possesses those characteristics? You won't find me "sucking up" to him, or anyone like him!
