I'm surprised that we were even looking at him considering the wages he'd demand & probably want at least a two year contract!

Although clearly once quality he wouldn't cope anymore & we'd be lumbered!
I'd rather Jack Wilshere on a pay as you play deal
But he's probably looking for at least two year contract as well.

I would be very surprised if this happens.

He is 31, injury prone and Juve are basically paying him not to play football.

Isn't that true of the majority of professional footballers?

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

This is the gamble at hand. He has been, in recent times, world class. If we can get him back fit and form we have a top 6 player on our hands.

If not its an expensive gamble.

I'm not sure what I would do if I was Parish.

Gut would be to invest in youth and use the same money to get 2 kids in.

Spot on, it goes against the new plan, young, hungry players who want to prove themselves are what we need, not injury riddled has-beens looking for a cushy couple of years

Not disagreeing with you entirely, but great teams are a combination of young, hungry players and experienced, proven, older heads. We've bought a lot of the former in the past two windows so it's not unacceptable that we balance things out with one of two of the latter, particularly since a fair number of experienced players will be out of contract in the summer.

By the way, I've heard one or two rumours floating around that the Ramsey deal has moved forward in the past twenty-four hours and is looking like it might happen. No idea if that's true or not.

According to the Mail we have pulled out, who knows? I am not that bothered he isn't match fit so unlikely to make an impact this season anyway.

Its a strange one, it depends, on fitness, cost, and ambition, with McArthur 35, Kouyate 32, Luka 31 and Gallagher leaving at the end of the season, Hughes is in for a lot of leg work

Here's a novel idea, let's buy a player with a history of injury.........oh hang on

So maybe we need more legs and experience?

Thinking about it, in an ideal word I'd like to pick up some experience and youth in the summer. Maybe a Ross Barkley and a younger lad with energy e.g. (Todd cantwell, John Swift, Carvaiho/Cairney @Fulham)

Yes, I'm with you, Badger. Very "meh" for me. I wouldn't be unhappy if he came and I'd understand why Vieira wanted him. But I wouldn't be unhappy if it fell through. There is plenty of other fish in that sea, some of whom I think would be better investments. What I would say though is that I trust Parish, particularly as I suspect he has learned from bitter experience, that if Ramsey did come, the contract would be on terms acceptable to us and in one way or another would mitigate the risk of paying a perpetually injured player.

I'm with you, Cairney i think is a very good player waiting for the right move
