This Russia bad, Ukraine good narrative is beyond a joke. Almost everything they claim on the MSM is literally made up nonsense. The West is desperate for Putin to attack and are literally poking the Bear in the eye. Its scary to see how this is shaping up because there is absolutely ZERO public appetite for any kind of conflict with Russia.

Terrifying to realise just how corrupt the West has become because this what we are being told through the supposedly respectable news sources is just utterly ludicrous if you take the time to just investigate it all a little deeper. They really do take us all for fools.

Putin is a nasty piece of work.

However, he's also a rational piece of work.

The only western politician who got on with him was Trump and he was destroyed in the media and by the left and neo liberals for it.

Yet both the left and neo liberals have been nothing but a disaster regarding Putin.....We stand on the cusp of a war because of their fecking incompetence.

Not in my name.

Personally I think Putin is the most astute politican of the 21st century. And he puts Russia first. A true leader. Listen/watch his speeches.

No Russian ever dropped a bomb on London. Or blew themselves up on a tube train. Why would we want to risk a single British soldier to defend a nation like Ukraine which is effectively a failed state, rotten with a corruption that beggars belief at times.

We are fed lie after lie about the threat Russia poses when the reality is that the West has broken promise after promise it made to Russia and is trying to control how it sells its gas. My understanding is that Russia sends most of its gas exports to the West via a pipe line through Ukraine. And it wishes to change that with the US wanting to stop that happening for a whole variety of reasons.

If we end up in any kind of shooting war with Russia then I am on the streets protesting because it will be a manufactuered conflict, deliberately set off by a US regime that has been bought, lock stock and barrel.

To Russia NATO is the aggressor and has been since the break-up of the soviet union.

The West has been provoking Russia but it is not strong.

Putin wants the west off his back.

I am beginning to see why.

Nonsensical Johnson nobody would dream of entering an alliance with him.

When the Soviet Union fell apart, Russia was told that NATO would not expand towards its borders. Assurances given. And now? NATO exercises right up against it. Russia is by far the sinned against rather than the sinner, at least on this issue.

I have recently been trying to make sense of what is going on in terms of recent gas finds/pipe line construction. Fascinating, at least to a saddo like me, along with being bloody confusing because there are all kinds of complexitiy and nuances to the wider-geo politics but essentially it all boils down to control of pipe-lines. Huge recent finds for both Turkey and Iran, along with all kinds of shenanigans in the Eastern Mediteranian linked to the supply and sourcing of it.

Its a geo-political gold-mine, if you like that kind of thing, and given the amount of nations with an interest in it, more akin to 3-D chess than anything else I have ever come accross.

I see Putin more as a mafia type leader....however on social policy he's a social conservative so I can only nod along to his commentary on western neo liberalism.....but sending assassins to kill dissidents?.....way over the line.

However, I'm in full agreement with you on how the west have behaved towards Putin both in the past and now and this is a war that we don't support in the slightest.....a lot of this is under the surface that the public aren't exposed to.

Really, after their abject performance in Afghanistan, retreating before a motley group of thugs, you wonder how the west could organise a vicarage tea party let alone an armed conflict against Russia.

If it came to a shooting war then NATO has the capability to beat the Russians but it would be bloody messy and I suspect they will not commit combat troops, at least in terms of direct hand to hand fighting with the Russians. Suspect it would be more airstrikes and the like, with perhaps some artillary support but not actual pitched battles with NATO forces. And the West never truly lost in Afghanistan, they merely just upped and left. A huge difference and making what happened even more shameful.

Off topic but as there is no thread of its own & everyone seems to be talking about it here.

Russia building up troop numbers on the Belarussian border with Ukraine is the biggest indicator yet that this is going all the way, Russia can be in the capital of Ukraine within 3/4 hours depending on how Ukrainian defensive lines hold up.

The Russians are god tier when it comes to ground based fast frontal assaults using tanks & other mechanised equipment basically they learnt from the Blitzkrieg arse kicking the Germans gave them in WW2 and made the tactic their own, they will try & take Kyiv as quickly as possible, the Ukrainian leadership will flee the country leaving the Ukrainian defence in a s*** state, everything East of the Dnieper river will become part of Russia, short to mid term there will be a very bloody civil war, long term Ukraine will become the buffer zone the Russians want to keep NATO/EU off their borders.

Russia then turns its attention to the Baltics and its wet ports.

I live about 2 hours drive from the Ukrainian border and the city of Uzhhorod so yeah I am watching very closely, Slovakia is allowing US troops to be stationed near the border & I have a Military Academy/barracks at the top of my road so if this escalates there is a reasonable chance it could directly affect me.

I've lost about £60,000 in takings over the last 3 winters because of Covid so it honestly wouldnt surprise me the next thing to f*** with me is a war in the region..
On the flip side Ukrainian refugees fleeing the country need to be housed & I have the room....

Slovakia has been quietly building up its own forces east of Kosice for about a year now although its never spoken about on the media etc.
I think I mentioned on here a while back that in the summer they have started testing Nuclear bomb sirens in towns & cities after a very very long lay off.
I was fishing my local lake when I heard it for myself & honestly its one of the most chilling things I have ever heard.

The only news I have seen recently (back in December) is about Russia withdrawing troops from the Ukrainian border. And nobody has yet given me any upsides to Russia actually launching this invasion.

We get all sorts of hype, and film footage of troops in trenches, but it is all, at least in news reporting terms, pure froth. Nothing actually concrete unless I am missing some coverage from it.

If Russia was planning an invasion then you would be seeing, night after night, news of Russian forces moving forward, even if only from their own embedded journalists.

It all strikes me as an illusion of an invasion threat being created rather than the actual reality of it. I am genuinely happy to be corrected on all of this but I really cannot see anything other than a huge hype being created around this with all the sabre rattling coming from both a US and UK administrations desperate to divert attention from domestic woes.

This contains an alleged satellite image of Russian forces on the Belarussian border - 10,000 troops and increasing daily.
Lithuania seems pretty convinced this is legit

Now I'll agree this isnt the first time Putin has f***ed with the west, they regularly do military exercises on borders with other countries see Op Zapad (translate Zapad... oh Putin you cheeky scamp)

The thing is though its always an exercise until you have a load of T-14 Armata's rolling over your border in attack formation.

I can only speak for where I live but you can see noticeable numbers of the Slovak military under the cover of night heading East.
The normies in SK go on with their lives but as someone who was in the military you can see whats going on.
They have also increased soldier recruitment considerably over the past year, I should know I house them the night before they start basic training.
