Our American directors Harris and Blitzer are part of a consortium trying to buy Chelsea. What are the implications for Palace as they cannot have shares in both clubs.

If they win the bid they have to sell their Palace interest. Not sure if current other owners e.g. Textor has first dibs or how they are valued

Probably get a lot less than they are hoping.
Totally disloyal pair. Always just in it for the money and didn’t part with much to help us.

That's when they will find out what the top division is all about. Don't know the ins and outs about their stake involving us but by God they are in for a shock with Chelsea.

Chelsea leak shed loads of money. Abrahamovic has been picking up the bill for twenty years. These two tight b******s will need to stick their hands in their pockets a lot more often. I don’t really know why they are interested in getting involved with a bidding consortium.

Let me re phrase this. Chelsea are in for one helluva shock. Having had 29 years of Abramovich generosity, they are about to discover that new owners Garris and Blitzer do not like spending money. Even though they are worth at least 60% of the Russian their spend ethic is terrible.
Chelsea will slide down the rankings and disappear out of the top six. !!!

Our time has come boys! Assuming we hang on to all our assets, manager, coaches, players etc. with our astute scouting and buying with Texters money and whoever joins the party to take H&B shares we could go Champions league.

It is fairly standard in private companies that existing shareholders are offered the shares first but does Textor have the funds and will to buy them out?

That may well be the case at Palace where they are minority shareholders but things could be different if they become majority shareholders in Chelsea but even so I don't see them winning the battle for the club

This is the contradictory logic you see so often spouted by football fans and it explains why so many clubs end up in serious financial trouble. Harris and Blitzer's spend ethic is terrible, apparently, yet Palace has been a stable, upwardly mobile, and continuously improving football club since they've been involved as owners. Meanwhile, Abramovich's spend ethic has supposedly been good (or even brilliant), yet without it we're told Chelsea will "slide down the rankings and disappear out of the top six" (which might well be true).

A good spend ethic is not spunking money willy-nilly in an attempt to buy glory (whether you can afford it or not). It's living sensibly, looking after your investment and increasing its value, achieving success in steps, and making sure the direction of travel is upward, consistent, and sustainable. Like it or not, Palace under Harris and Blitzer have achieved all that. And more.

Many seem to want a gazillionaire owner at Palace who chucks money in every direction and turns us into the next Man City. Personally, I don't. I'm not saying Harris and Blitzer are perfect. I'm not saying a little more investment wouldn't have been welcome. But the OP is a joke. Harris and Blitzer have been owners of Palace during the most successful period in the club's history.

To some people, I'd suggest getting a grip and appreciating what you've got. And be careful what you wish for.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

We've got two part-owners trying to buy another club. Not just another club, another London club. f*** them, hope they buy Chelsea just as we knock them out of the FA Cup.

I agree with your comments about not wanting a gazillionaire owner though. It seems like a very hollow sort of success and I don't know how Manchester City fans enjoy it.

However, I am desperate to see us win something and play European football before I die. Probably got about 40 years for it to happen. Maybe 30 given the beer drinking. If it does happen though, it would be far more enjoyable if we do it with the current model, using youth academy players and young talents who we've bought cheaply and built up.

As somebody said before if they are ultimately successful then they would have to give up their share in us, hopefully we can buy back at a knock down price and be a more self sufficient club with our academy hopefully baring fruit

It's so easy to overlook the above. We were in Administration just 12 years ago but somehow have spent the last 9 years in the PL and most of those 9 years with H & B on board. The foundations for a viable and potentially successful future have been laid.

I'm not sure about 'and n more' though. What did you have in mind, Syd?

As for H & B and Chelsea, it will be interesting to see if they even make the short list.
