I wonder how many more shares Textor would like.

My understanding is that as a shareholder you cannot have interests in two English Clubs.

If that’s correct Blitzer and Harris would have to sell/dispose of their Palace shares before any consortium they are part of could take control of Chelsea.

This could/would take time - in that they would have to find an “investor/consortium” to buy their shares and complete the deal before their consortium could take control at Chelsea.

With the Government involved/ in charge of negotiations everything is going to have to be transparent and in keeping/line with all rules and regulations.

It seems the Government are keen to resolve this as soon as possible - with that in mind surely puts Blitzer hand Harris’ consortium at a distinct disadvantage aas their position will protract negotiations and a completed deal. Compared to a consortium that does not have the same complications - so could move quicker to a completed deal and purchase of Chelsea.

Could be wrong - but just a thought and seems to make sense to me..!!

On the upside with Blitzer and Harris seemingly unwilling to fully commit/invest in Palace - if they do sell will hopefully be to someone more like Textor who is/are more committed into the long term Palace project and vision.

Every cloud and silver lining and all that..!!

Then they won’t be allowed to buy Chelsea!

This is Harris and Blitzer’s problem not Palace’s. It’s not up to Palace to find buyers for Harris and Blitzer’s shares.

Ultimately they will need to set a price such that someone will buy. Palace are a good investment at the moment though with a strong academy and a successful team on and off the pitch from Steve Paris down. It’s likely there will be at least one buyer - D&B will have lined them up and will have consulted both Textor and Parish before mounting their bid for Chelsea as both will have a say in who buys them.

The worry for Palace is that the purchasers need to be able to invest further in order to continue the excellent progress and fulfil the club’s plans. And they need to be happy leave Parish in overall control.

I Think you are dead right, i also think that it wont be as easy to sell H and Bs shares as they think, if the are so intent on buying Chelsea a bargain could be had

If the numbers quoted above are right, that Textor owns 40% of the club and Parrish 11% (thereby giving them a voting majority of 51% regardless of who buys Harris and Blitzer's shares) then assuming that Textor is happy with the status quo of Parish running the club, the shares would hold no appeal to anyone who wasn't happy with Parish continuing as now since they wouldn't be able to remove him. To that extent, nothing should change if Harris and Blitzer do buy Chelsea. The major figure would become Textor as he could potentially buy additional shares and make himself the majority shareholder (I think it's safe to say Parish doesn't have the money to do that) or, at least in theory, he could turn against Parish and side with two new shareholders if they came in wanting shake things up (though I can't see why Textor or anyone else would want to do that).

I said earlier and I still believe it that I wonder if one of the failed Chelsea bidders moves for Harris and Blitzer's shares if our owners do win the Abramovich auction. Simply putting a bid in on a club requires an enormous investment in legal and banking fees and so on so you'd imagine the Chelsea bidders, or at least some of them, might just have a Plan B if they lost. You also know if nothing else those parties are all interested in buying a London-based football club. And moving for Harris and Blitzer's shares in this scenario does make at least enough sense to consider. It would also enable a very rapid and straightforward deal that might benefit both parties. Perhaps I'm letting my imagination run away with me, but it seems a reasonable thought.

Harris/Blitzer definitely have a decision to make if they literally have to sell their stake before being considered for the Chelsea ownership. They could well end up with neither. Maybe they will get a tip that they are not favoured and decide to try and rival Chelsea by putting more money into Palace.

I can't say I have looked at the four bids in detail but I'd like Palace to steer clear of anything involving Woody Johnson. He was a real jerk as Trump's, voice piece, US ambassador.

Its been reported the buyers of Chelsea, not only have to buy a club that doesnt own its ground, but agree to commit a billion to finance transfer fees and wages. That just doesnt sound like Blitzer and Harris sort of deal. They are no more going to finance a billion into Palace than Parish is.

I cannot understand for one minute, unless you are a palace fanatic, why anyone would spend money on buying 36% of the club, where you have no say on what happens and make no money from your investments

Newcastle, for instance, was sold for considerably more than it cost. Valuations for Palace are more than has been put in up front, as far as I can tell. Obviously, there are other considerations but a return can be made. Clearly, some investors aren't looking for that but you get the feeling Harris and Blitzer are.

It’s all over my head what is going on especially without knowing the detail.
I get that H&B want to buy Chelsea and I’m assuming they will have a majority stake, like they had at Palace.
I can only assume when Textor bought into Palace thus reducing the H&B stake to minority, ( according to the press),that was step one in their exit from Palace. Textor probably has an agreement already to buy them out as holding 38% minority in a private company with no control makes no sense. Especially when Textor has put in £87m by way of share purchase/loan.
All depends on the agreements in place that we are not privy to.
Textor is clearly very ambitious to expand in world football. He must have a pretty big plan that we are now part of.
However with the collapse of the Fubo share price from $35 to $7 over the past 6 months I just don’t know what will happen next.
Not sure if he has even completed on his purchase of 90% of Botafogo the Brazilian club.
Without facts it’s hard to know but it stands to reason that H&B are on their way out of Palace.
Buying a club as big as Chelsea, valued at x10 recent acquisition of Newcastle is much more in line with their current sports assets.
Fascinating what is evolving. We will know soon enough.
Just hope we all stay safe through these very shaky times.

Got to say that with the might of PIF (Saudi royal family) behind it, the purchase of Newcastle for £300m is now looking like a snip.
With the massive credits they have in FFP they can spend the same again on building the club into a monster. They already have the infrastructure. They will be in champions league within a couple of years assuming no macro interferences like wars viruses extreme weather etc. or change of football policies. (Unlikely as the Middle East progress their total dominance of our sport unhindered).
With the current bidders, Chelsea is looking very toppy. At $3billion they really need some kind of state backing with where football is going.
Middle East now have PSG Man City Newcastle and they control a sizeable part of global tv sports rights.
Smart guys. Scary.
