A sound repudiation and rejection of racism, small minded thinking and xenophobia.

Thank you France, for not electing a far right bigot.

Quite so.

And the French, surveying the wreckage of brexit, will not be 'Frexiting' either.

Macron skilfully introduced brexit and Trump in his closing arguments.

The French got the bigger picture.

Do you only think prejudice travels in only one direction? Is france integrated or polarized ?

Yep, I believe racism sums up Le Pen's position pretty succinctly.

Doesnt matter about what direction its flowing, it is the bastion of the ignorant.

There wasnt a muslim running for president, last time I checked.

France just said "non, merci" to a far right bigot. Slovenia just said goodbye to a pro Trump right wing tool. Nato grows in power and influence. Trump's social media venture was as successful as his university. People who voted for brexit on immigration grounds are seeing record numbers of people arriving in boats. Good to see "take back control" working well.

Perhaps the world is turning.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

The French got a posturing prat for another 5 years, but the nation showed that a very large percentage have had enough of immigration and ineffectual politicians.

Many voted Macron because they believed the scaremongering spread by the usual media puppets.

If voting for right wing parties is the only way to shake the grip of these globalist rent boys, then so be it.

You would think so, but it is remarkable how the problems of the existing majority soon become the problems of the immigrant when they realise that thousands more people arriving doesn't help them either.

How soon? Another generation? By the time many more millions have been added. And even if they do early, they often can’t vote. It’s very obvious that unless living in open spaces, most immigrants do and will vote Labour, and they obviously will want more immigrants that will need them.

Evolution

The change in the characteristics of a species over several generations and relies on the process of natural selection.

Biological not behavioural.

The move toward globalism is about technology and the greed of man. Technology has allowed the very rich and influential to get even greater control over the masses and further their own interests at the expense of the rest.

While the world they created crumbles under the weight of increased population, division and the shortage of necessities, they will be counting the money in their Ivory towers.

You think that is our evolutionary future?

You want us to be the Eloi in your wonderful new world?

You are the one talking rubbish.

Behavioural evolution is regarded by some as a science on its own. You are speaking only of the evolution of living things, but many things evolve. Systems evolve. It merely means to change to suit new circumstances.

[Link]

Globalism is a result of our shrinking world, due to technological advancements which enable the transfer of things, and people, in ways that didn't previously exist. That some seek to profit from it, is a consequence, not the cause.

That we need to exercise control over those consequences is beyond doubt. As is that we need new global structures to do so. What isn't true is that we can simply stop it. The world has already changed, and there is no return to what existed before. That's why it has evolved.

This is nonsense. Huge numbers were encouraged into Britain for profit and to avoid training costs. It wasn’t necessary. It’s mainly a Ponzi scheme.

Did Tony Blair open up the immigration floodgates to manipulate the next hundred years of General elections ? All those new Labour voters.

Is Macron a similar political animal ?

Le Pen did not campaign on Frexit, but staying inside the EU. Please keep up.

TBH, it was to keep up a tax flow to support our to social policies like an aging population and a heavy state pension scheme burden.

I doubt all those plumbers were voting Labour.

I did keep up.

Her proposals meant 'Frexit' in all but name.

And the French voters sussed her out.

Who on earth do you think is doing the "encouraging"?

Most employers would much prefer to employ locally born people. Communication is much easier as a start. But if you cannot recruit people, even when you offer on the job training, then you have little choice. The motivation isn't profit. It's survival.

There is a skills shortage. Our training facilities, whilst improving, remain inadequate. Whilst we were in the EU the gaps were filled mainly from Eastern Europe. The gaps still exist, so now what do we do?

This is a systemic problem which goes right back to basics. It starts in the school system, continues in the Universities and throughout the working life. We need to constantly train and retrain, but we don't. It needs to be solved, but will take many years and shedloads of money, which is needed elsewhere.
