1.30 and no result from Croydon I guess stuffing the ballot box is taking time.

Quite ridiculous really. I have twenty years election experience. The vote ended on Thursday night I assume that Croydon like Bromley decided not to count through the night (staff would be tired mistakes made etc.) but start on Friday morning.

Well here we are on Saturday lunchtime, they must be having recounts if not what on earth are they doing.

Unbelievable the dodgy Lutfur Rahman who even the Labour Party found too unpalatable is back as Mayor of Tower Hamlets. Talk about racial politics.

Struck off as a Solicitor, I assume the Law Society knows how to run a fair disciplinary process. So this seems pretty worrying

Not really. They had to hand the counting hall back to Trinity School which had A levels to run and then important sporting activities.

Yup so I am hearing, it's really bad management by those running the election.

Apparently the Mayor vote was close so many recounts were held which delayed the count of the rest of the election. The problem being that they didn't take this into account when hiring the hall, why on earth not?

By the way this wasn't a political point. Electoral services would be responsible for choosing the location for the count they are council employees and somebody screwed up (no contingency).

Couldn’t run a p1ss up. Should’ve got the cabinet or shadow cabinet down.

Couldn’t run a borough or a council or a local budget. Couldn’t run ….. <insert anything in the dictionary>

Nothing important ever happens at Trinity.

Result of the day as far as I am concerned. The local population refused to just be good little immigrants and toe the line their Labour white saviours wanted them to and voted back in a man who they trust to fully represent their interests.

Is Rahman everything you no doubt believe him to be? 100%. But what he represents in terms of the future of British politics is a nailed on reality. People need to wake up to this and be prepared to vote accordingly when the time comes.

The Islamic 'Aspire' party is now in control of Tower Hamlets. LOL.

It's an interesting development for sure. Seen plenty of Left-wingers cheering it on although none seem to mention that as far as I can see, and I am happy to be corrected on this, none of these new Councillors are women but clearly, the idea of 50-50 does not apply in Tower-Hamlets.

From a wider point of view I wonder if this will just remain a specific Tower-Hamlets phenomenon or might it spread? Labour relies on a solid Mulsim vote to prop it up in all kinds of seats, primarily in the North (and linked to the grooming scandals) but I have long speculated on what might happen once the Muslims in the UK realise just how much political power that can wield.

All done and dusted now. No over-all control with a Lib Dem holding the key vote. [edit - The Greens also gained 2 seats]

And with all the scores on the doors...Labour gained 22 Councillors. LOL. 22. In Tower Hamlets the new Islamic 'Aspire Party' gained 24, all at Labour's expense. And Labour actually lost councillors outside of London in the rest of England. Oh, and their leader is under police investigation.

They are f***ed.

These local elections were meant to be when Starmer showed us how he is so much better than Corbyn. LOL.
