I think he was something of a child actor like Phil Collins. I remember him in the Sixties realist film 'Up The Junction' and someone told me he was from Clapham.

A good bloke apparently.

He was rather typecast but I saw him in an old episode of Daziel and Pascoe the other day and he was very good as an ex soldier holding people hostage in a pub.

All jokes aside, comedy can be very much of its time, and maybe aside from the likes of Peepshow, Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Louie I find it a bit too sanitised and by numbers now. But there is always an ebb and flow and there are some funny podcasts and the like that are no holds barred. Anything short of unfunny actual hatred of others, I can find amusing. I don't really care if its 'offensive' or left or right.

I'm also a big fan of comedies that may even seem a bit hokey now, like On The Buses . Rising Damp, Ever Decreasing Circles, Brush Strokes, Fawlty Towers, could go on (and I often do!)..
